AGENDA ITEM:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving Agreement for
Professional Consulting Services with Snyder & Associates, Inc. [NW
Douglas Parkway Grade, Partial Pave and Joint Utility Trench]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project includes preliminary and final design for
grading and partial paving of NW Douglas Parkway from N Warrior Lane to approximately 1,150-feet
to the west of N Warrior Lane. Also included is design for installation of a Joint Utility Trench (JUT)
from N. Warrior Lane to NW 2nd Street and south along NW 2nd Street for approximately 900-feet. The
project will support the increasing traffic generated by the continued growth and development of the
northwest portion of Waukee, including the new NW High School and construction of a new 8-9
school building.
This project is part of the draft FY 2023 CIP. Total budget in the draft FY 2023 CIP is $2,175,000.00.
The project schedule is currently set to take bids in June 2022 and complete construction by May
2023. The Professional Consulting Services Agreement with Snyder and Associates is for $232,100.00
which is approximately 10.7% of the total project cost.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: City agrees to pay the Consultant
a not to exceed sum of $232,100.00, including any authorized reimbursable expenses, pursuant to the
Schedule of Fees set forth in Attachment 3 of the agreement.

RESOLUTION 2021-
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH
SNYDER & ASSOCIATES, INC. [NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY GRADE, PARTIAL
PAVE AND JOINT UTILITY TRENCH]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the consultant services of Snyder & Associates, Inc. for
the NW Douglas Parkway Grade, Partial Pave and Joint Utility Trench Project; AND,
WHEREAS, the scope of services includes preliminary and final design for grading and partial
paving of NW Douglas Parkway from N. Warrior Lane to approximately 1,150-feet west. Also
included is design for installation of a Joint Utility Trench (JUT) from N. Warrior Lane to NW
2nd Street and south along NW 2nd Street for approximately 900-feet. The project will support the
increasing traffic generated by the continued growth and development of the northwest portion
of Waukee, including the new High School and construction of a new 8-9 school building;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services between Snyder & Associates, Inc. and the City
of Waukee, Iowa [NW Douglas Parkway Grade, Partial Pave and Joint Utility Trench] is hereby
approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 20th day of
December, 2021.
