Professional Consulting Services with Snyder & Associates, Inc. [NW
Douglas Parkway & NW 10th Street Traffic Signal and NW Douglas Parkway
& N. Warrior Lane Traffic Signal]
FORMAT:Resolution
SYNOPSIS INCLUDING PRO & CON: The project includes traffic signal design for two
intersections on NW Douglas Parkway, one at the intersection of NW 10th Street and a second at the
intersection of N. Warrior Lane. The project will support the increasing traffic generated by the
continued growth and development of the northwest portion of Waukee, including the new NW High
School and construction of the new 8-9 school building.
This project is part of the draft FY 2023 CIP. Total budget in the draft FY 2023 CIP is $1,250,000.
The project schedule is currently set to take bids in April 2022 and complete construction by
November 2022. The Professional Consulting Services Agreement with Snyder and Associates is for
$67,000.00 which is approximately 5.4% of the total project cost.
FISCAL IMPACT INCLUDING COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS: City agrees to pay the Consultant
a Not-to-Exceed sum of $67,000.00, including any authorized reimbursable expenses, pursuant to the
Schedule of Fees set forth in Attachment 3 of the agreement.

RESOLUTION 2021-
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH
SNYDER & ASSOCIATES, INC. [NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY & NW 10TH STREET
TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND NW DOUGLAS PARKWAY AND N. WARRIOR LANE
TRAFFIC SIGNALS]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the consultant services of Snyder & Associates, Inc. for
the NW Douglas Parkway & NW 10th Street Traffic Signals AND NW Douglas Parkway & N.
Warrior Lane Traffic Signals Project; AND,
WHEREAS, the scope of services includes traffic signal design for two intersections on NW
Douglas Parkway, one at the intersection of NW 10th Street and a second at the intersection of N.
Warrior Lane. The project will support the increasing traffic generated by the continued growth
and development of the northwest portion of Waukee, including the new High School and
construction of new 8-9 school building;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Agreement for Professional Consulting Services between Snyder & Associates, Inc. and the City
of Waukee, Iowa [NW Douglas Parkway & NW 10th Street Traffic Signals AND NW Douglas
Parkway & N. Warrior Lane Traffic Signals] is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 20th day of
December, 2021.
