HomeMy WebLinkAboutPR- Field Crew Lead Field Crew Lead Page 1 Council Approved 12-20-2021 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Field Crew Lead Reports to: Triumph Park Superintendent Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation/Triumph Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of the Triumph Park Superintendent, provides maintenance services, including mowing, turf and field maintenance, equipment maintenance, fence repair, trash and litter removal and general customer service at Triumph Park and other assigned facilities. Average duration of seasonal employment is eight to nine months. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. Performs maintenance and repairs to assigned facility. 2. Assists with oversight of Field Crew members. 3. Completes mowing and trimming of assigned grounds according to standards. 4. Provides necessary field preparation for assigned facility including striping and dragging of ball fields. 5. Performs maintenance of turf and infield areas as needed for assigned facility. 6. Complete proper waste management and janitorial duties, cleaning and restocking of assigned facilities. 7. Performs equipment maintenance, repairs and cleaning as assigned. 8. Communicates with facility users maintaining a high level of customer service. 9. Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned. SUCCESS FACTORS: 1. Attentive to the City's standards for customer service, accuracy, quality, efficiency and all City policies and procedures ensuring that all work performed meets those standards. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum age 18. 2. Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the City’s motor vehicle policy. 3. Must possess valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. 4. Related work experience preferred. 5. General knowledge of computers and software applications to utilize e-mail and timekeeping systems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Be responsive to visual and verbal alarms and other indications of distress. 2. Required to lift to shoulder height and carry up to 50 pounds. 3. Able to drive, climb in and out of equipment, and other modes of transportation. 4. Able to maneuver along walkways, trails and undeveloped areas. Able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community. WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Standard work hours will average 30 - 40 plus hours per week to meet the needs of Triumph Park and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. 2. Majority of working hours will be outdoors where heat, cold, precipitation, and the results of weather and nature may be encountered. 3. During summer months outside temperatures can be over 100 degrees for entire scheduled workday. I have read and understand the information contained in the Job Description.
