HomeMy WebLinkAboutPR - Lead Concession Attendant Lead Concession Attendant Page 1 Council Approved 12-20-2021 City of Waukee JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Lead Concession Attendant Reports to: Recreation Supervisor Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation Direct Reports: None Pay Grade: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: Under the general direction of the Recreation Supervisor, assists customers and is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide variety of procedures necessary for the efficient operation of concession functions within Triumph Park. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Order of Essential Functions does not indicate importance of functions.) 1. Concession stand sales, cleaning, and stocking. 2. Takes orders for food and beverages and prepares food items according to the instructions. 3. Completes cash transactions accurately, totaling purchases, tendering change, counting down cash drawers and preparing daily deposits. 4. Directs and participates in the set-up of concession stands, arrange inventory of supplies, and communicate shortages to Recreation Supervisor. 5. Oversees Concession Attendants in the efficient operation of concession stands. 6. Directs and performs clean-up duties after each shift and ensure that concession stand, food preparation equipment is sanitized and tidied up for the next attendant. 7. Keeps food preparation equipment, building and storage areas clean and well-maintained. 8. Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned. SUCCESS FACTORS: 1. Attentive to the City’s standards for customer service, accuracy, quality, efficiency and all City policies and procedures ensuring that all work performed meets those standards. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Continued education in high school or above. High school diploma or GED preferred. 2. Must be 16 years of age or older. 3. Must possess valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. 4. Reliable transportation to and from work. 5. Confident in the use of computers and tablets and able to be trained in software required to complete functions of the position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. 2. Able to reach, climb, bend, kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. 3. Able to spend the majority of work-related time standing. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of American money, weight and distance. 6. Able to hear, see, and effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community. WORKING CONDITIONS: 1. Climate controlled building with large window openings where the results of weather and nature may be encountered. 2. There is no residency requirement for this position.
