RESOLUTION 2022-072
APPROVING THE COMPLETION AND SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO
THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES (IDNR) FOR AN IOWA
STATE REVOLVING FUND (SRF) WATER RESOURCE SPONSORED PROJECT
[LITTLE WALNUT CREEK STREAMBANK RESTORATION PROJECT]
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, this program will be implemented through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund
(CWSRF), a loan program for construction of water quality facilities and practices. On a typical
CWSRF loan, the utility borrows principal and repays principal plus interest and fees. On a
CWSRF loan with a sponsored project, a portion of the interest due on the loan is used to fund
the work of the sponsored project, so the utility's ratepayers do not pay any more than they
would have for just the wastewater improvements. Instead, two water quality projects are
completed for the cost of one; AND,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to apply for the resource restoration sponsored project funding to
complete the Little Walnut Creek Streambank Restoration Project; AND,
WHEREAS, the filing of an Iowa SRF Water Resource Restoration Sponsored Project
application is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Waukee, Iowa.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee that the
Completion and Submission of an Application to the Iowa DNR for an Iowa SRF Water
Resource Sponsored Project [Little Walnut Creek Streambank Restoration Project] is hereby
approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 22"d day of February
2022.
