HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022-05-02 Ordinance 3035_Solid Waste and Recycling RatesORDINANCE NO.3035 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 106, COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE, BY AMENDING SECTION 106.10, COLLECTION CHARGES, AS SPECIFIED WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined to amend the charges for the collection, processing and marketing of solid waste and recyclable materials. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee: Section 1. Chapter 106, Waukee Municipal Code, Section 106.10 should be and the same is hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof is as follows: § 106.10 Collection Charges. The fees or charges to pay for expenses incurred in the collection, processing and marketing of solid waste, and yard waste to be collected between April 1 and November 30 each year, and recyclables shall be: A. For each single family residence and a dwelling of two (2) or more, the fees will be $15.50 per month beginning July 1, 2022. B. Any multi -family dwelling containing four (4) or more units having a commercial type of container serviced by a commercial hauler must follow Waukee Municipal Code provisions relating thereto, covering the mandating of Recycling at Apartments. A fee of three dollars ($3.00) per month, per unit, will be billed by and paid to the City. C. Changes in provisions for fees set out in this ordinance may be made by resolution of the City Council. Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect on July 1, 2022 after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
