RESOLUTION 2023-022
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT PRE -APPLICATION TO THE
IOWA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (IEDA) COMMUNITY
CATALYST BUILDING REMEDIATION PROGRAM
IN THE NAME AND B1' TIIE AUTHORIT)' OF TIIE C'ITI' OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council and the City of Waukee have established the expanded
development of community and leisure opportunities as a Council goal; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council and the City of Waukee recognize downtown revitalization as an
economic development priority; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has identified the Iowa Economic Development Authority
(IEDA) as a potential funding source for the redevelopment, rehabilitation or deconstruction of
buildings to stimulate economic growth or reinvestment in the community, AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has available funds to fulfill its share of obligation related to
this grant pre -application should the grant funds be awarded.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that it hereby
authorizes the submittal of a grant pre -application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority
(IEDA) Community Catalyst Grant Program on behalf of the City of Waukee.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved the 16"' day of January,
2023.
