RESOLUTION 2023-024
APPROVING CITY OF WAUKEE HOME BASE IOWA REVISED INCENTIVES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa, is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2016, the Waukee City Council approved a resolution supporting the
Home Base Iowa initiative (Resolution #16-248); AND,
WHEREAS, after acceptance as a Home Base Iowa community by the State of Iowa, the City of
Waukee established certain specific incentives to veterans relocating to Waukee after September
15, 2016; AND,
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee supports revisions to the Home Base Iowa incentives.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa in
session this 16'h day of January, 2023, that the following Home Base Iowa incentives are
approved and in effect as of the date of approval:
• Building Permit Fee Waiver of up to $250 on one (1) building permit for new homes or
remodels, including fences, pools, and accessory structures.
• Utility Credit of $200 (one-time use only) upon application for a city utility account
(includes water, sewer, gas and garbage).
• Parks and Recreation Credit of up to $100 toward any Parks and Recreation
program(s) administered by the City of Waukee. Can be used by veterans or their
immediate family members. (Must register for programs in -person.)
• Sugar Creek Golf Course Credit of one (1) punch card for 10 free rounds of golf at the
Sugar Creek Golf Course. (Credit does not apply toward cart rental.)
• Irrigation Meter Credit of up to $250 toward the purchase of an irrigation meter (for
single family homes only) to save sewer charges on water used for irrigation and other
outdoor purposes.
