RESOLUTION 2023-483
ACCEPTING CITY OF WAUKEE PUBLIC ART AND CULTURE PLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City retained consulting services from Group Creative Services for completion
of a public art master plan in January 2023; AND,
WHEREAS, Group Creative has conducted an online survey, focus groups and interviews,
crafted mission and vision statements, worked with the Waukee Public Art Commission,
authored a three -to -five year art and culture plan, and in November/December 2023 will conduct
a call for artists for the City's first public art project; AND,
WHEREAS, nearly all agencies that provide public art grants require that applicants have an
active public art plan;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Waukee
formally accepts the Public Art and Culture Plan developed by Group Creative Services and it is
hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approve e 6t' day of November,
2023.
