RESOLUTION 2023-520
APPROVING THE INDEPENDENT AUDITOR'S FINAL REPORT
FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2023
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Iowa is an incorporated City within Dallas County, Iowa; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Waukee awarded a three-year contract for audit services to Denman
and Company, LLP on May 6, 2019; AND,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Waukee awarded a three-year contract extension for audit services to
Denman and Company, LLP on July 10, 2023; AND,
WHEREAS, Denman and Company, LLP has audited the FY2023 books and finds them to be
substantially in compliance with state laws; AND,
WHEREAS, Denman and Company, LLP has prepared the FY2023 report to be in compliance with
the GASB reporting requirements; AND,
WHEREAS, there were no recommendations in Findings Related to the Financial Statements and one
recommendation in Findings Related to Required Statutory Reporting for exceeding the budget in
general government and debt service functions; AND,
WHEREAS, representatives of Demean and Company, LLP presented their findings to the Mayor and
Council at the December 18, 2023 Council Meeting.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 18'
day of December 2023 that it hereby approves the auditor's Financial Report of General Purpose
Financial Statements and Supplementary Information Schedule of Findings FY2023.
