HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-04-06-Regular MinutesApril 6th 1942 Regular meeting of the Town Council of Waukee,Iowa. ~he newly elected council composed of A.B.Ca~ter,J.F.Knoll Howard Da11am,W.G.Kallenbach and~.D.Davis were sworn·in by Mayor F.B.Young. Mayor F.B.Young refused to qUilfy for the office of Mayor of which he was elected. 2H7 ·1 The council then de~lared the office of Mayor vacant. Dallam nominated A.B.Carter for the office of Mayor. Davis moved that nominations cease and a unanimous ballett be cast for A.B.Carter as h~yor.Seconded by Kallenbach. Motion carrried and the council declared A.B.Carter elected Mayor for the term of two years.' Councilman Carter then designed as councilman.,and was sworn in to the,office of Mayor by the Clerk. Mayor Carter called the meeting to order. The minuttes of the previous meeting were read ana approved as read • .The treas reports for the months of Nov,Dec,Jan and Feby were read and approved. Mayor Carter appointed T.S.Jones,Health Commissinor. I Knoll nominated S.M.Nissly as Clerk,L!o orther nominations. Davis moved that B.N.Ovebman be hired as a full time man in addition to his duties as Marshall and street commissinor qt a monthly salary of ~50.vO per month,Seconded by Knoll. Motion carried.
