The Town Council of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,met on the 23rd day of March,
1966,at eight o'clock P.ld.,C.S.T.,at the Town Hall,Waukee,Iowa,pursuant to
Drior action of said Council and to law to canvass the results of the election en
the proposition of entering into a contract for the purchase of natural gas,held
on the 22nd day of "hrch,1966,boing the next preceding (secular)day.
The meeting was called to order by the mayor,and the roll being called,
there were
Present,Ceroge Kramer,0hyor,in the chair,and the following named members of
the Council:IJamesJohnston,Henry Leonard,Bernard Boone,Vincent Meyer,Dr.Charles Howe
Absent:aONE
The Council proceeded to canvass the returns of the aforesaid election and
embodied their findings in the resolution next hereinafter set out,which was in-
troduced and read by Councilman Johnston,who moved its adoption;seconded by
Councilman Leonard.After due consideration thereof by the Council,the hmyor put
the question upon the adoption of se.id resolution,and the roll being called,the
following named Councilmen voted:
Ayes:Johnston,Leonard,Boonej sieyer and Howe
Nays:NoneD
Whereupon,the "layor declared said resolution duly adopted,as follows:
Canvassing certain results of an ellection.
BE IT F£SOL'[SD by theTown Council of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,beiD~fully
advised in the premises hereby finds and determines:
First-That pursuant to Chapter 397 of the Code of Iowa,1962,and all laws I
amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto,the Council of said Town of Waukee,
Iowa,at a special meeting on the 17th day of March,1966,on its own motion adopted ..
a resolution calling a special electQn,fixing the date,hours,and polling place
thereof and submitting thereat to the voters of said Town,the proposition of enter-
ing into a contract with Northern Natural Gas Company for the p.urchase of natural
gas.
Second-T hat pUblic notice of said election and the date,hours and polling
place tbereof and the proposition thereat submitted and hereinafter referred to,
was duly given by publication thereof in Dallas County once each week for at least
four consecutive weekS in a legal newspaper,printed Wholly in the English language
published in said Town and of general circulation therein,said election being held
on a day not less than five nor more than twenty days after thelast of said pUbli-
cations,all in strict compliance with Chapter 397 of theCode of Iowa,1962,and all
laws amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto and with orders of said Council.
Third-That at the said election,the Judges and Clerks all duly appointed,
qualified and acting,duly performed all things reqUired by law and by the orders
of this Council at said election and have made due returns thereof.
Fourth-That said e Le ctacn was legally held and conducted pursuant to law,
to the orders of said Council and to the aforesaid notice at the proper polling
place thereof on the 22nd day of N~rch,1966,from 8:00 o'clock A.M.until 8:00
0'clock P.M.IFifth-That at said election the total number of ballots cast was 514,of
which 311 votes were cast "YES"and 202 votes were cast "NO",and 1 ballots wer-e
cast blank or defectively marked.
Sixth-That the total number of persons voting at said election on said date
as is shown by the poll lists thereof was 514.
Seventh-That tne aforesaid propostion submitted at said election,the results
of which are herein canvassed,was duly approved by a majority of all legal votes
cast on said question at said election.
Section 2.It is hereby determined and declared that the aforesaid propoai,tion
245.
WaS duLy carried,and it her-eby ordered that the results of tlillhscanvass shall be
duly entered in the records of said Town.

On motion and vote the meeting adjourned.
Vie,George Kramer,Mayor,and Remo lUzzi,Clerk,of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,
hereby certify tbat we met on tbe day of and prior to the passage of above resolution
and caLlvassed the returns of the election referred to therein and that said resolution
adopted by the Council of said Town of Waukee,Iowa,sets out a correct and complete
canVaSS of the returns of said election as canvassed by us.
WITNESS our hands and the Town seal at Waukee,Iowa,this 23rd day of Marcb,1966.
I,Remo Nizzi,being first duly sworn,do bereby depose and certify taat I
an the duly appointed,qualified and acting Clerk of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,and
that as such Clerk I have in my possession or have tbe access to the complete
corporate records of said municipality and of its Council and officers,and that
said transcript bereto attached is a true,correct,and complete copy of all the
corporate records in relation to an election held in said Town on the proposition
of entering into a co.rt.ruc't with tbe Northern Natural Cas Company for the purchasing
of gas for the purpose of selling the sc~e either to residents of the Town or to
others or to corporations;and that the said Council consists of five (5)members.
