Section 2.That it is hereby found,determined and declared that said
bid accepted in the preceding section of this resolution is fully responsive
to the original plans and specifications for this project as prepared by
McClure Engineering Company of Fort Dodge,Iowa,as referred to"in the preamble
hereof and as on file with the Town Clerk on the 12th day of May,1966.
Section 3.That the J~yor and Town Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
a contract for and on behalf ofithe Town of Waukee,Iowa,with said contractor
for said project in the amount hereinabove stated and to affix the corporate seal of
said Town to said contract to be in the form provided in the plans and speci-
fications referred to in the preamble hereof.
Section Ij.That all resolutions and orders or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

The Waukee Town Council met in regular session at the Town hall Julyll,1966,
With ~~yor protem Howe in the chair.Councilmen present--Leonard,Boone,Meyer,
Absent--Johnston and Mayor mxamer.
Moved by Leonard seconded by Meyer to approve the minutes as read.Carried 3 to O.
Moved by Boone seconded by Meyer to approve the Treasurer's report as read.
Carried 3 to O.
Mrs.Craig,Mrs.Doll,Mrs.TIluhos,Miss Marie Pegram,Louie Baer,Mr.and Mrs.
Art Lienenam met With the Council regarding a year !log Tie Up.I
Councilman Leonard suggested that attorney Paul Huscher draw up a year dog tie
up ordinance and bring it back at another meeting.The Council accepted this
suggestion.
Councilman Meyer read and introduced Resolution concerning contract With
Mathews Construction seconded by Boone

ApprOVing contract and performance bend for the
establishment and construction of a natural gas
distribution system and appurtenances.

WHEREAS,pursuant to notice of hearing,bids were received on thE 21st
day of June,1966,by the Town of Waukee,Iowa,for the establishment and
construction of a natural gas distribution system and appurtenances in said
Town as called for in the plans and specifications filed with the Town Clerk
on the 12th day of May,1966,and
WHEREAS,this council has heretofore determined that the bid of Mathews
Construction Co.of Thief River Falls,Minnesota,in the amount of $92,466.50
is fo:r the best interests of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,and award has been made
to said contractor for said project;and
WHEFEAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications
has been executed by said contractor,which said contract has been signed by
the Mayor and attested by the Town Clerk on behalf of th.e Town of Waukee,Iowa,
and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by the contractor.
Now THEREFORE,Be It and It Is Hereby Resolved by the Town Council of
the Town of Waukee,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.That the contract between the Town of Waukee,Iowa,and
Mathews Construction Company in the amount of $92,466.50,dated the 11th day
of July,1966,for the construction and establishment of a natural gas dis-
tribution system and appUl"tenances in accordance w'th the plans and specifi-
cations prepared by McC~'re Engineering Company of Fort Dodge,Iowa,now on file
with the Town Clerk as provided for in the plans and specifications referred
to in the preamble hereof and the performance bond filed in connection there-
with are hereby approved.
Section 2.That all resolutions and orders or parts thereof in conflict
hereWith be and the same are hereby repealed.

John McClure,Engineer,met with the Council and reported on the progress of
the Gas system.
Joe Casey,·of Carleton Beh Co.met with the Council regarding rate to be used
by the Town.
Moved by Boone seconded =y Leonard to instruct attorney Paul Huscher to draw up
necessary ordinance on rate to be used by the Town of Waukee,using same rate
as submitted l.y the Tovin to the Federal Power Commission.Carried 3 to O.
Moved qy Meyer seconded by Boone;Be it resolved that the Town of Waukee will
caange all orfices from L.P.to natural gas on all appliances to be connected
to Waukee Municipal Gas.Carried 3 to O.
Moved by Meyer seconded by Leonard to pay Thorpe Well $4124.34 to complete
contract on well in full;effective date of warranty March 1,1966.Carried 3 to O.
The Council discussed the drainage problem on Pine street between Inman and Tovera
property.It was decided to have Oakes Engineering to see what should be done.

Waukee TmID Council held a Special meeting July 18,1966 with Mayor Protem
Howe in the chair and all Councilmen present.Mayor Kramer absent.
Marge Orr and Mr.Eason met With t~e council regarding the budget for the
library for the year 1967:
Salary $1200;Supplies $200.00;Art rental $70.00;Books $1,000;Magazine
subscriptions $25.00;Newspaper $5.66;making a total proposed budget of
$2500.00.
Moved by Johnston seconded by Leonard to purchase tools for Gas Dept.from
Brown Supply.Approximate cost $600.00 quoted.Carried h to O.
Moved by Leonard seconded by Meyer to adopt the Gas Code used by the Town
of Woodbine.Carried 4 to O.
The Clerk was ~nstructed to get bids on printing 500 books on Gas Code.
T'ne Council worked on the budget for the year 1967.Moved by Johnston seconed
by Boone to submit the folloWing budget:
General $6,OO--Street $ll,OOO--Public Safety $6000--Sanitation $1000--
Municipal h:nterpries $l,OO--Recreation $1200--Utilities $4500--Debt Service
$6440--Agriculture Land .65 Total budget to be published $38,205.00.

The Waumee Town Council met in regular session at the Town Hall August 8,1966;
with !myor K ramer presiding and all Councilmen present except Johnston.
Johnston came at apprOXimately 9:30 P.M.
Moved by Meyer seconded by Howe to approve the minutes as read.Carried 4 to O.
Johnston absent.
Deputy Sheriff Cumnrings and Bob DeCamp met With the Council regarding a night
man for the Town.
