The Waukee Town Council held its Fcegular meeting l,iarch13,1967,with 1',ayorKramer,
presiding and all Councilman present.
Moved by Meyer,seconded by Boone to approve minutes as read 5_0.
Moved by Boone,seconded by Howe,to approve treas report as read.5-0.
The Council dicussed two Employees Hospital plans presented byBlue Cross and
Washington National.Both compa.iys were comparable in cost and coverage.
I Moved by Howe,seconded by Johnston that the following named employees,Woods,
Bainter,and Sebeniecher,be granted Hospital insurance on this basis:The Town
of WaUkee,to pay half and the Employees to pay half of the prenuums ,Employees
as a group are to designate which one of the Companies they desire to be insured with.
Carried 5-0.
Moved by Boone,seconded by Howe to allow Bob Roland,a traler permit on the Geo
Jones,property on Laurel St.,where a trailer previously existed.Carried 5-0.
Moved by Johnston,seconded byLeonard,to
the police car belonging to hay Bainter at a
purchased the sireon now installed in
cost of $50.00.
Moved by Howe,seconded by Meyer,that the motion be laid on the Iiab.Le,Carried 5-0,.
JVlovedby Meyer,seconded by Boone to grant a lease for $1.00 for the parcel of
ground in front of the lagoon to Albert Vel'Shuer and Harlan Crawley for a garden.Vel'
Shuer and Crawley to Comply with the lease written by the Town Attorney.Carried 5-0.
Moved by Leonard,seconded by Johnston to instruct the Clerk to receive bids on
tractors tires for the Ford Tractor and purchased the same from the low bidder,5-0.,
Moved by Howe,seconded by
the Clerk 5-0.

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE TOWN CLERK
Be It Enacted by the Counci I of the Town of Waukee I Iowa:
Section 1.General Duties.The Town Clerk shall exercise the powers and perform
the duties prescribed by the statutes of the State of Iowa and by Ordinance.
Section 2.Supervision of Employees.The Town Clerk shall have direct supervision
over all employees of the Town of Waukee.
Section 3.Supervision over Town Property.The Town Clerk shall have general
supervision over all of the town property I including but not limited to vehicles owned by the
town I and shall requ ire an accounting of the use ofthe town property by all employees.
Section 4.Purchasing Agent.The Town Clerk shall serve as purchasing agent for
the Town of Waukee.He shall enter into consultation with employees and the town council
to determine the needs for all departments of the town I formulate technical and financial aspects »>:'~-../
of bids I submit contracts for municipal needs to the town council for approval and author-i.zationI
advertise for bids as required by law on the basis of the contracts drawn up by the town attorney I
and enforce qual ity standards for goods prchased.He shall also establ ish a perpetual inventory
system for the town and maintain this sy~em.
Section 5.Additional Duties.T'he Town Clerk shall exercise such other duties as
shall be directed by the town council and the mayor.
Section 6.All Ordinances and Resolutions or parts thereof in confltctxherewtth shall
be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent only of such conf ict ,
Section 7.This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its final
passage I adoption and approval by the Town Council and publ ication as provided by law.
