Regular Council Meeting was held July 8,1968 at the Waukee Town Hall,with Mayor
Howe presiding and Councilmen present were Boone,Rees,Applegate,absent Meyer
and Davis.
Moved by Boone seconded by Rees that the minutes be approved as read.Carried 3-0.
A delegation of citizens living on 4th street and on School street met with the
Council regarding proposed street procect #1 for 1968 and 4th street,and school
street.They were objective to the prosed assessment of $7.00 per running foot for
curb and 6 inch asphalt mat.Hearing on this project will be held July 29,1968.
Sidewalks were discussed by the Council regarding the distance from the Curb.
'Extendinggas line to Grey Ave and\'ialtHi nkson TrUer Court was agr~d by the
Council.
Extending gas line to Adam Laboratory which is being located next to the Popcorn
factory on Highway 6 was discussed by the Council and it was agreeded to wait
until a report is received from Bill Hegler Eng Co.
Moved by Applegate seconded by Rees to Contact Civil Defense and procure appliecation
for matching funds on a siren.Carried 3-0.
Moved by Applegate seconded by Boone that the following resolution be adopted.The
Waukee Town Council request the State Dept of Public Safety to issue a vehecular
emergency permit to Ray Bainter,who is a duly authorized,full time,fully
compensated peace officer engaged in law enforcement work for the Town of Waukee.
Carried 3-0.
The Council agreed to sponsor Roller Skating on a 3 weeks trail basis at cost of
$40.00 per week.Carried 3-0.
