HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-03-10-Regular Minutes'78 The Waukee town council held its regular meetlog March 10,1969 at 7P.M.with Mayor Howe presiding and Councilmen Applegate,Gardiner,Meyers and Rees present. Boone Absen"li. Moved by Applegate seconded by Rees to approve tbe minutes as read.Carried. Moved by Gardiner seconded by Rees to join tbe Mid-West Gas Assocation.Carried. Moved by Rees seconded by Applegate to sponsor the summer Band concerts at a cost of $35 per concert and to allot $50 to be spent for music.Carried. Street repair and site of a ~ark was discussed by tbe council~ The council agreed tbat as soon as work eased off that Kay Ford would be sent to attend Gas Instruction scbool. Clerk was instructed to contact tbe people who had roller skating last summer to find out about baving tbem return this year.There seems to be very much interest in this program. Water situation was discussed;and steps are going to be taken to ~nforce the yearly dog control ordinance. "The Waukee lagoons caLlbe adequately up graded by the installation of surface mechanical aeration.Minimum requirements will provide 10 H.P.for the des- ignated primary lagoon.Two 5 H.P.units are recommended. Four 5 H.P.units will provide initial clean up of both laggons and maintain circulation in the primary lagoon. The secondary lagoon is to be maintained in a quiescen"listate and used as a settling and polisbing pond. The plan as outlined is based on the best possible estimates.Operation during the second quarter of 1969 can provide concrete data to allow adjustment of the prescribed requirements." ~Mayor I I I
