Section 1.That this Town Council meet at the Town Hall in said town,on
the 14th day or April 1969,at 7:00 o'clock P.M.,C.S.T.at whioh time and I
place proceedings will be instituted and action taken for tbe issuance of .
$36,000 Park Bonds for the purpose set out in the preamble hereoi
municipalities.
The Mayor put tne question on passage and adoption of said resolution;and the
roll being called the following councilmen voted;AYES Applegate,Boone,
Gardiner,Meyer and Rees.NAYS None.Carried.
Meeting adjourned.

A special meeting of the Council was called by Mayor Howe and following Cou ncil-
men present:Meyer,Rees,Boone,Gardiner.Absen.Applegate.
Dallas County Sheriff,John Wright,and Deputy Bob DeCamp were present at this
meeting.
The council agreed to put on a day man on week-ends and see if this would help.
Dick Kunkel of Kunkel Water and Electric met with tbe Council,regarding Well #2
and bis findings.Mr.Kunkel told toe Council that tbey had run well #2 for
24 bours and it was pumping 45 gal.a minute with the old pump,and a good
supply of water was recorded after tbe 24 hour test.With a new pump it would
pump up to 70 gals.a minu.e,and it would pump it direct into the water towner.
It would cost $3573.12 for a 15 HP Pump and appro 470 ft.of pipe and 470 ft.
of 10-3 Cable.All control boxes to pump direct into the towe!!?·
Moved by Rees and seconded by Gardiner to purchased from Kunkle Electric the
pump and install the same.Carried 4 to 0.
Councilman Meyer introduced and caused to be read a resolution enti.led :
"Resolution to fix a date of meeting at wbich it is proposed to take action
for the issuance of #36,000 Park Bonds",and moved hs adoption.It was seconded
by Gardiner.After due consd~eration of said resolution by the council,the
Mayor put the question on adoption and when the roll was called the following
Councilmen voted:AYES Boone,Gardiner,Meyer and Rees.NAYS None.Whereupon
the l~yor declared said motion duly carried and said resolution duly adopted
and signed his approval theretoRESOLUTIONTofixadateofmeeting at Which it is proposed to take action for
the issuance or $36,000 Park Bonds.
WHEREAS,it is necessary and for the best interest of said Town of Waukee,
that it acqUire and make permanent improvements to certain real estate for
Park purposes and tbat Park Bonds of said Town be issued at tnis time in the
principal amount $36,000 for the purpose of paying tbe cost of such acquisition
and improvemenl.s:andWHEREAS,it is first required that notice and bearing on the issuance of
sucb bonds be given in the manner,form and time prescribed by Chapter 23 and
Chapter 408A of the Code of Iowa,1966:NOW,THEREFORE,BE lT RESOL~CED by the Town Council of Town of Waukee,
Iowa as follows:
Section 2.The Town Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of proposed
action for the issuance of said Park Bonds,setting forth the amount and
purpose thereof,together with the maximun rate of interest which said bonds
are to bear ana the time wben and place where said meeting will be held,by
publication at least once not less than fifteen (15)days before said meeting

of Des Moines,Iowa and having a general circulation in the Town of WaUKee.
Said notice shall be in substantially the following form:

Animal Rescue League of Des Moines attended to discuss Dog control with the Council.II Dennis McEinney met with the Council regarding water on 3rd Street.
Clerk was instructed to contact Henry Oakes about duing a study on 3rd street.

Notice of meeting for issuance of Park Bonds.PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
pursuant to Section 23.12 and Chapter 408A of the Coae of Iowa that the Town Council
of the Town of Waukee,in Dallas County,Iowa will meet on the 14th day of April,
1969,at the Town Hall,Waukee,Iowa at 8:00 O'Clock P.M.,C.S.T.,for the purpose
of instituting proceedings and taking action for the issuance of $36,000 Park Bonds
of said Town,oearing interest at a rate not exceeding five per cent (5)per aumun,
for the purpose of paying the cost of acquisition and of making permanent improve-
ments to certain real estate for park purpose for said Town.
At any time before t~e date of said meeting a petition or,petitions setting
forth objections to the issuance of said Donds may be filed in the office of the
Clerk of said Town as permitted by law;
By order of the Town Council,this 25th day of March 1969.
Section 3.That alL resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed and this resol~tion shall be effective forthwith
upon its passage and approval.
Passed and approved on the 25th day of March 1969.

Regular meeting of the W§ukee Town Gouncil was held April 14th with Mayor pro-tern
Meyer presiding and all Councilmen present.Mayor Howe ca~e in later •.
George Kramer met with the council about having a clean up day.
Moved by Rees seconded by Gardiner to have a contract with the Animal Rescue League.
Carried."
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ANIMAL RESCUE L.ii;AGUEOF IOWA AI'JDTHE TOWN OF
WAUKEE,IOWA
Jan.1969 to Dec.31,1969
All dogs running contrary to ordinance,may be picked up by the Animal Rescue League
and be held for a period of 7 days.Impounding fees not to exceed $5.00 plus $1.50
.pez'day board,or any part of.
Biting dogs will be picked up and impounded,for 14 days,at the cost of $1.50 per
day to the town of Waukee,plus time and mileage,if not claimed by the owner.
If the dog is claimed by the owner,after the 14 days,the fee will be $21.00 plus
$4.00 for a Rabies innoculation and License fees.
All dogs"returned to owner,all impounding fees,boarding fees,plus the license
and penal~J'must be PAID for by the owner.
$1.00 for males and spayed females.$1.00 for unspayed females,
Unclaimed dogs,after a 7 day holding period,may be put up for Adoption or be
humanely destroyed.Then the town of .aukee will be billed $1.50 per-day,per-
bead,or,$10.50 per-dog plus time arm mileage.
All dead dogs,cats,etc.will be picked up for $1.00 per head plus time and mileage.
