The regul~r meeting of the Waukee to,m council was held January 11,1971 with Mayor
Boone presiding and the following co'unciL~en present -Merle Rees,Daniel Gardiner,
Dr.Ronald Blessing,David Morris.Absent -George Kramer.
~loved by Blessing seconded by Rees to approve minutes as read.Carried 4 to O.
Jerry Stone met with the council about obtaining a Class C beer permit for Casey's
General Store.
Hoved by Gardiner and seconded by blessing to vote by ballot:"Shall the Town of
Waukee issue a Class C beer permit to Jer-ry Stone DBA "Casey's Geners L Store."
The vote was as follows:NO -3,YES -1,ABSENT -1.Hotion not carried.The
reason for not granti,€beer permit was thdt the council did not know whether the
applicant could qualify under Section 124.10.They ask applicant for figures show-
ing per cent of Dusiness being groceries and per cent of other sales.
Dennis McKinney met with the council concerning 3rd street.
Moved by Morris and seconded by Blessing th~t the To,m of Waukee should accept deed
to E 25 feet W 180 feet,S -637 feet,NE i Sec.33-79-26,upon McKinney furnishing
abstract showing merchantible title from grantors.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Gardiner seconded by H0rris1jhatthe following budget oe accepted by Town
of Waukee for year 1971.General -$4750,Street -$11,270,Safety -$12,095,
Sanitation -$550,Municipal Enterpries _$2300,Recreation -$3750,Utilities -
$4400,Debt Service -$17,955.Total -$57,070.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Blessing sec8nded Dy Rees to designate the Dallas County News as official
paper for the To,m of W,ukee.Carried 3 to 1.Gardiner voting no.
Moved by Rees seconded by Blessing to designate Brenton St3.te B~nk :lS town depositary
bank.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Recs seconded by Blessing to reappoint Mary Cavner to the Board of Adjustments.

Moved by Morris seconded by Rees to have regular COQ~cil meeting on first Monday of
the month at 7 P.M.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Rees seconded by )·!orristo reappoint all employees of the Town of \1faukee.

Moved by Rees seconded by Blessing the following employees salary be set at --
Dale Boone -$595.50 per month,Kay Ford -$585 per month,Noel Raper -$472.50 per
month.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Gardiner seconded by Rees that the Clerk's (Remo Nizzi)salary be set at
$816.66 per month.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Gardiner and seconded by Morris that Paul Huscher be retained as attorney
at $100 per month.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Gardiner seconded by Rees that the town SUbscribe to Daily Legislature
Bulletin Service.Cost $40 per session.Carried 4 to O.
The council discussed different ~~ojects for 1971.These would be stUdied and
cataloged in rank of their importantance.
