The reular town council meeting was held on April 5,1971.Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Boone.Councilmen present:Gardiner,Kramer,Morris
and Blessing.Merle Hees came in later.,
Movea,by Kramer,sec,ond by Morris,to approved mtnutes as read,carried4toO.
Mr.Battles met with the council regarding Earth Day.The council gave him
permission to bury a car full of cans at the town property south of town.Town
to dig the trench.
A discussion was held regarding a summerprogram--no action taken.
Oakes Engineering met with the council regarding the upgrading of the presen
lagoon,by installing an aeration system into it,and increasing the capacity
to approximately 3,000 people.
Movedby Hees,second by INlardiner,to instruct clerk to purchase a 6 ft.
John Deer Flair Mowerat a cost of $700.00.Carried 5 to O.I
Movedby Hees,second by Morris,to instruct the clerk to purchase a Bolin
lawn Keeper Rider Mower.Carried 5 to O.
Movedby Hees,second by Gardiner,to pay $331.17 for annual assessment to
the Central Iowa Hegional Planning Commission.Carried 5 to O.
MO'll"edby Hees,second by Kramer,to appoint John Hamilton and Bill Wilson
to the Planning Commission,replacing J S Keller and Joe Neubauer whJilSieterms
expire in YJay.carried 5 to O.
Movedby Kramer,second by P.ees,to appoint Mrs Albert Sears to the Library
Board to replace George Kramer.Carried 5 to O.
}Ioved by Gardiner,second by Kramer,to sponser skating at a cost of $45.00

Movedby Morris,second by Kramer,to send 9 men to fire training school at
Ames.Carried 5 to O.
Movedby Gardiner,second by Kramer,to require 10 ft.easement for utilities.

Councilman Kramer introilluced an ordinance resolution entitled "Amendmentto
}lotor Vehicle or Traffic Ordinance".It,was moved by Morris,second by Hees,
that the ordinance resolution enil>itled "Amendmentto Motor Vehicle or Traffic
Ordinance"be now read by the town clerk.The mayor put the question on the
motion,and the roll being called,the following named Councilmen voted:
Ayes--f.eamer,Gardiner,Hees,Morris,and Blessing.Nays-s-ncne,Whereupon,
the mayor declared the motion duly carried.
It was movedby Co1l.{jcilmanKramer and seconded by Councilman Blessing,that
the rule requiring an ordinance to be read three separate days be dispensed I
with.The mayor put the question on the motion,and the roll being called,
the following named Councilmen voted:Ayes--Kramer,Blessing,Gardiner,
Rees,and Morris.Nays--none.1;Vhereupnn,the mayor declared the motion
duly carried.
It was moved by Councilman Hees,second by Councilman Gardiner,that the
ordinance resolution entitled "Amendmentto Motor Vehicle or Traffic Ordinance"
be now put upon its final passage and adoption.The mayor put the question
on the final passage and adoption of said ordinance ~esolution,and the roll
being called,the follo.r.i.ng named Councilmen voted:Ayes--Rees,Gardiner,
Blessing,Kramer,and Horris.Nays-c-none,Whereupon,the mayor declared the
said ordinance resolution duly passed and adopted and signed his approval to
said ordinance.
An ordinance amending the Motor Vehicle or Traffic Ordinance of the ToJll'lof
Waukee,Iowa
BE it enacted by the Council of the Townof Waukee,Iowa:
SEC~ION1.That the Motor Vehicle or Traffic Ordinance of the Townof
Waukee,Iowa,is amended by adding the following:
"All traffic on Fourth Street bet1o1eenNorthview Drive and Ashworth
Dr:irvedur-Ing the period beginning September 1,in eacl}wear,and
ending YJay30,in the succeeding year shall travel one way,north
bet.reen 8:00 and 8:30 a.m.,and between 3:30 and 4:00 p.m.each day
except Saturdays and Sundays."I
SECTION2.This amendmentshall be in effect after its final passage
approval,and posting or publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council on the 5th day of April,1971,and approved this
5th day of April,1971.
