Moved by Kramer,second by Blessing,to certify budget for 1972 to County Auditor.Carried 5 to O. ~_d_'"'::clerk mayor A regular town councilm meeting was held on September 13,1971 ,with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present. l!lr'sHarry .Tilliams and J!fJr &Mrs Robert De Camp met with the council regarding dedicating 25 feet for roadway on 3rd Street. ClerlJ;Hemo Nizzi,will attend 9 weeks of water waste school on Weenesday afternoons at Atlantic,Iowa John Felton,zoning administratJOr,met with the council regarding zoning regulations. Moved by Hees,second by Gardiner,to inform Farmer's l-larketto have off-street parking,remove trailer,proper signs and location of signs, and a drive through with no backing onto highway.Carried 5 to O. Issue summons to Robert Tyer on laurel Street to nemove all junk on Mrs Edith Tyer's property. Open existing alley from 6th Street to 5th Street,behind laurel St. Moved by Hees,second by Morris,to close alley between Ed's Tavern and Olson Bros Sinclair from Walnut St 142 feet south.The following is a legal description of the alley to be closed: A 16 ft.alley lying adjacent to and immediately east of lot 3,block 10,original tmn"",in the Town of Waukee,Dallas County,Iowa. Carried 3 to 2.Yes--Morris,Hees,Blessing.No--Kramer &Gardiner. The four-way sign on ·6th St and Ashworth was discussed by the council. Yellow stripe across intersection was discussed. Moved by Hees,second by Morris,to have Oakes Engineering sarvey the alley between Ed;s Tavern and Olson Bros Sinclair.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Gardiner,second by Blessing,to add an additional fund called Property Plan &Equipment Fund.Carried 5 to O. M letter was received from Civil Engineering Consultants regarding sub division development east of ".Taukee.Town of Waukee to meet with them October 19. Parking ordinance was discussed by Council. Gilbert Stanley,chairman of zoning commission,met with the council c.oncerning zoning matters,sidewalks,parking,fences,weeds,etc. One way traffic going east between school property and town park was brought up by the clerk.His reasoning of one way traffic was during football games,many children would be walking back west and traffic going both ways would create a hazardous condition.Council thought a voluntary procedure could be used.
