The Council of Waukee,Iowa,met on the 25th day of June,1973 at 7 :30 psm,
at the TownHall in the municipality,pursuant to prior action of the
Council and to law,for the purpose of receiving and canvassing bids and·
considering and passing a resolution providing for the wward of $50,000
Street Improvement Bonds and for the purpose of instituting proceedings
and taldng action for the issuance of the bonds and the transactiQn
of such other business as may come before the meeting.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor and the roll being called,
there were present Bernard Boone,mayor,tn the chair and the following
named Council Members:Carpe,Blessing,KraJr.er,Jones
Absent:none (vacancy)
The council investigated and found that notice of the propesed actd.on
of the Council for the issuance of the aforementioned bonds had been
published according to law and as directed by the Council and that no
petitionsetting forth objections to the proposed action has been filed
in the offtce of the Clerk and that the issuance of the bonds in the
aggregate amount as published may now be authorized by the Council.
This being the time and place fixed in the published notice for the
consideration of proposals for the purchase of $50,000 Street Improvement
Bonds,the Council then proceeded accordingly.The results of the bids
were incorporated in a resolution wmck was introduced and caused to be
read in full by Council memberGeorge Kramer under the ti tIe of "
Resolution prov"iding for the sale and award of $50,000 Street Improvement
Bonds and approving and authorizilmg the agreement of such sale and award".
Council MemberBlessing moved that the resolution be adopted,seconded by
Council MemberCarpe.After due consideration,the Mayor put the question
on the motion and the roll being called,the following named Council
Membersvoted:
Ayes:Carpe,Blessing,Kramer,Jones
Nays:none
Whereupon,the Mayor declared the resolution daly adopted and signed his
approval,thereto.
RESOLUI]i'ION
Providing for the sale and award of $50,000
Street Improvement Bond and approving and
authovizilmg the agreement of such sale and award
WHEREAS,notice of the sale of $50,000 Street Improvement Bonds
of Waukee,Iowa,was heretofore given in strict compliance with the
provisions of Chapter 75 of the Code of Iowa,1973,as amended;and
WHEREAS,at the time and place named in the notice,sealed bids
were received and file and thereupon open bids were called for and after
all of the open bids had been received the substance of the best open
bid neted in the miniltes as follows:

WHEREAS,upon final canvass of all bids,the bid of Jack Sparks
of Des Moinlllll,Iowa is the highest and best.being a price not less than'
par and accrued interest;
NOWTHEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVEDby the Council of Waukee,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1.That the bid of 4.60%of Jack Spark be and the same is hereby
accepted and that the aforementioned bonds,dated July 1,1973,
maturing on November1 of each of the respective years and in the prin-
cipal amounts and bearing interest at the respective rates as follows:

be and the same are hereby awarded to the said bidder at the price of

Section 2.That the form of agreement of sale of the bonds be and the
same is hereby approved and the Mayor,Clerk and Treasurer are hereby
authorized to accept and emcuise the same for and on behalf of the
nrunicipality and to affix the corperate seal of the municipality thereto.
Section 3.That all resolutions or parts of resolution in conflict here-
with be and the sallB are hereby repealed.

Homer Judkins and Charles Jordan met with the council regarding the new
building on Maple Street for the catholic Church.Clesing the alley
behind their lot was requested by these gentlement The council stated
that the alley is not officially closed but is being used by abutting
property owners.It could be used by the church for parking only on
the 8 ft abutting the church property.
Movedby Carpe,second by Blessing,to blacktop in front of the Post
Office with 2 inches of asphalt and awarding the contract to Iowa Road
Builders.Carried 4 to O.
