The judges lIere:John Felton,WE Gilham,and Janice Blair The clerks were:Mary Cavner and Ann Ford The final results of the election was as follmis'as certified by the Cmmmissioner of Elections of Dallas County: IT IS HEREBYCERTIFIEDTHAT,on the 12th day of November,1973,the undersigned Paul McCleary,Francis Weil and HowardWalker,memberof Dallas County Board of Supervisors met as a Board of Canvassers,as provided by law,the County House in Adel,Dallas County,Iowa,and canvassed the election returned from all the voting precincts in Waukee,Iowa,in said county,for voted cast at the elction held therin on the 6th day of November,1973 for each office on the ballot and the number of votes for and against each question submitted by said City'the result of said canvass being as follows: For the Office of Mayor (1 to be elected) There were Ninety (90)ballots cast,of which Bernard Boone had 85 votes., scattering votes had 5 votes.Bernard Boone was elected. For the Office of Countilmen (2 year term)(5 to be elected) There were Four Hundred Twenty-six (426)ballots cast,of which Hack A Carpe had 85 votes Harry V Copeland had'84 votes Harry N Jones had 89 votes Swane W Kopecky had 77 votes Albert 1Sears had 79 votes Scattering votes had 12 votes and Jack A Carpe,Harry V Copeland,Harry N Jones,SwaneW Kopecky,and Albert 1 Sears were elected. November14,1973 The regular council meeting was held on November14,1973 at 8:00 pvm,at the town hall with Mayor Boone presiding and the following councilmen present:Jack Cappe,Dr Ronald Blessing,Harry Jones.Absent:George Kramer. Minutes were approved as read. Terry Smith,director and Irvin Samee,sewer planner alid Dennis Dolmage, chairman of Planning &Zoning were also present. Movedby Blessing,second by Carpe,to approve Metropolitan Area Sewer Agreement.Carried 3 to O. Movedby Jones,second by Blessing,to purchase 2 radios for pick-Up and snow plow at a cost of $349.00 each from Schutter &Co.Carried 3 to O. The council discussed upgrading of 701 program with the planner from CIRAG. Chairman Dennis Dolmageto set up a meeting with them in the near future. The council agreed to rent the building on 5th Street to Olson Bros to store tires. Meeting adjourned. Mayor December 10,1973 The regular council meeting was held on December 10,1973 with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present. Minutes were approved as read. Walnut Township trustees met with the council regarding water going across new part of the cemetary.The new storm sewer that will be installed will take care of this problem. M ved by Gardiner,second by J nes ,to have Paul Huscher draw up an ordinance for incorporating the fire department.Carried 5 to 0. Future annexation was discussed by the council. A letter is to be written by town attorney to Iowa Power &Light Co about getting a service man for the Town of Waukee. Meeting adjourned.
