HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-03-11-Regular MinutesMarch 11,1974 The Waukee town council held its regular meeting on March 11,1974 with Mayor Boone presiding and the following councilmen present:Jack Carpe,Harry Jones, Harry Copeland,and Albert Sears.Absent:Duane Kopecky. Moved by Jones,second by Sears to approve minutes as read. The Mayor announcmd that this was the time and place set for hearing and inspection of bids for the construction of proposed storm set,er improve- ments,in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared and filed by Oakes Engineering Company,Des Moines,Iowa,the municipalities Engineers. Upon investigation,it was found that no persons had appeared and filed objections to the proposed plans,specifications or contract for or cost of said improvements and extensions to the said storm sewers. Council member Jones introduced and read the following resolution and moved its adoption,seconded by council member Copeland;and after due consideration thereof by the council,the Mayor put the question upon the motion and the roll being called,the following named council members voted: Ayes: Nays: Copeland,Carps,Sears,Jones none Whereupon,the Mayor declared the said motion duly carried and the resolution adopted as follows: RESOLUTION Finally approving and confirming plans, specifications and form of contract WHEREAS,this council has heretofore approved plans,specifications and form of contract for the proposed constrution of storm sewer improvements as described in the resolution declaring necessity and ordering constrution, finally passed and approved on the day of ,1974;and WHEREAS,hearing has been held on objections to the proposed plans, specifications and form o~contract and to the cost of the proposed improv- ments and all objections thereto have been overruled; NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED by the Council of Waukee,IoWai"as follows: That the plans,specifications and form of contract referred to in the preamble hereof by and the same are hereby finally approved and the prior action of the Council approving them is hereby finally confirmed. Clerk Nizzi stated that as soon as the Heather permits,the smoke test will be done on 1st Street,N r t.hvi.ew,3rd,Ashwor-th and 4th St. The I\quadene representative Hould contact the clerk about coming to a council meeting. Councilman Duane Kopecky submitted his resignation inw.citing to the city council with reason that his work makes it impossible for him to attand the council meetings.
