The Waukee Town COlIDCilmet in Special session !'larch14,1974 with Mayor Boone
presiding and the following named councilmen present--Carpe,Copeland,Jones,
Sears.Absent --None.
Council member Jones introduced and read a resolution entitled:"Resolution
awarding contract for the construction of storm sewer improvements",and moved
that the said resolution be adopted;seconded by Council member Sears;and after
due consideration thereof by the council,the ~1ayor put the question upon the
motion and the roll being called,the following named Council members voted:
Ayes:Copeland,Carpe,Sears and Jones.Nays:None.Whereupon,the ~yor
declared the said motion duly carried and the said resolution duly adopted.
RESOLUTION
Awarding contract for the construction of storm sewer improvements
IT IS RESOLVED by the Council of Waukee,Iowa,that after due consideration of
the proposals submitted for the construction of storm sewer improvements in
accordance with plans and specifications prepared and filed by ~akes Engineering
Company,Des Moines,Iowa,themunicipality's Engineers,all as described in a
certain resolution declaring necessity and ordering construction,as finally
adopted by this Council on the 14th day of March,1974,.und in the plans and
specifications now on file in the office of tae clerk,all of said proposals
having been received pursuant to legal pullilicationof notice of hearing and
lettin~,it is determined that the bid of the following contractor is the best
and lowest legal bid received for the construction of the improvements,said
bid being as follows:

$100,182.83
IT IS FURTIiER RESOLVED that the contract for the construction of said improvements
be and the same is hereby awarded to the contractor above named at a total est-
imated cost of $100,182.83,the final settlement to be made on the bisis of the
unit prices therein set out and the actual final quantities of each class of
materials furnished,the said contract to be subject to the terms of the afore-
mentioned resolution declaring necessity and ordering construction,and the notice
of hearing and letting,the plans and specifications and the terms of the bidders
written proposal;and the ~yor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
ordered to enter into a written constract with the said contractor covering such
construction,said contract not to be binding until approved by resolution of
this council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amount of the contractor I s construction and
maintenance surety bond is hereby fixed at $100,182.83,which is equ8valent to
the total estimated cost of the said contract.
Passed and approved this 14th day of March,1974.Surety bond by Maryland Casulty
Company for $100,182.83..Kay Ford presented his resigna~t~·~~
