Mr6J1'Moved by Copland and seconded by Larson to approve minutes as read.Carried 11 to 0/ Representatives of the Methodist Church met with the council regarding the alley between the Town property and church property.It was decided to have the two engineers get together and decide on one measurement. Mr.&Mrs.Gene Franks met with the council regarding the run off 1.rateron the Franks property,resulting from the new storm sewer that the town is installing on 3rd and 4th streets.Council agreed to go with the Franks to their property and see what could be done. Moved by Jack Carpe and seconded by Al Sears to enter into contract with Nancy Paullin to purchase 8.01 acres of land. Beginning at the South Quarter Corner of Section 33,Township 79, North,Range 26 West of the 5th P.M.;Thence South 89 degrees 47" West,along the South line of said Section 33,366 Feet;Thence North 1"33'West,along the East Une of Waukee Cemetery,922.34 Feet;Thence North 89°47'East,390.94 Feet to the West Id.ne of Corene Acres Plat #5,an Official Plat now included in the To.m of Waukee;Thence South 0"0',-922.1 Feet to point of beginning.All of the above described parcel being in Section 33-79-26,Town of Waukee,Dallas County,Iowa and containing 8.01 acres. Total purchase price for said property is the sum of Twe]~e Thousand fifteen dollars of which One Thousand fifteen ($1,015.00)has been paid herewith,receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by Seller;and Buyers agree to pay the balance to seller at resldence of Seller,-oras 'directed by Seller as follows: $1,000.00 September 1,1974,and $1,000.00 on the first day of January and $1,000.00 on the first day of September in each and every year thereafter until the entire balance of the purchase price has been paid in full. Moved by Copland and seconded by Larson that the following resolution be adopted: II Be it Resolved by the City Council that the above described property being purchased from Nancy Paullin of 8.01 acres be developed as a park and that the same not be sold by the City of Ivaukee.II Carried 4-0. Moved by laDson and seconded by Sears to pay Mr.Waddington $125 for 3 concerts with the Jr.High Band.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Carpe and seconded by Copland to sponsor swimming this year.City to pay gas and drivers $12 per trip.Carried 4 to O. The clerk presented the 1st payment from Iowa Road Builders regarding the storm sewer.Moved by Sears and seconded by Carpe to authorize the cillrkto pay the. amount of $56,361.01 to Iowa Road Builders when 50%of work is complete. Carried 4 to O. Moved by Sears and seconded by Carpe to grant permission to N.W.Bell to install underground 1.riringand manholes along A~hwQrth Drive from telephone office East to corporate limits.Carried 4 to O. Hoved by Copland and seconded By Carpe and Repair Co.of Clear Lake,Iowa for to paint interior and exterior sur!lace --1toenterintocontractwith\vatertower Paint $1889.00 and another contract for $tl,OOO.OO of 200,000 g"llon Storage tank.Carried. Moved by Copeland seconded by Carpe to a~prove minutes as read.Carried S-J. Clerk Ray Nizzi reported the storm sewer project was 60%comjlleted lllo"ingon s chr du'l.r, A group of citizens from North View &Bel aire met with the council regarding the backing up of water into their basements.Council stated that a smoke t.st is being scheduled for those streets to see if they can determine where the wat'r is infultrating into the sanitary system.An ov,rflow tube is being plann'd at th·lagoon to try and avoid a head build up there. The council discussed the vancancy on the council.Voting by ballot Mervin Boromel received 3 votes. Moved by Carpe seconded by Larson to appoint Mervin Bomm.l on the council. Carried 3 to O.Clerk Nizzi issued the oath of offic'to Bommrl. The council discussed replacements on the Planning &ZOning Commission.Diff,rnt names were suggested.Clerk to report at next mE'fting.
