Meeting called to order by Mayor Boone and
Harry Copeland,Jack Carpe and Ron Larson.

Moved by Copeland seconded by Carpe to a~prove minutes as read.Carried S-J.
Clerk Ray Nizzi reported the storm sewer project was 60%comjlleted lllo"ingon s chr du'l.r,
A group of citizens from North View &Bel aire met with the council regarding the
backing up of water into their basements.Council stated that a smoke t.st is being
scheduled for those streets to see if they can determine where the wat'r is infultrating
into the sanitary system.An ov,rflow tube is being plann'd at th·lagoon to
try and avoid a head build up there.
The council discussed the vancancy on the council.Voting by ballot Mervin
Boromel received 3 votes.
Moved by Carpe seconded by Larson to appoint Mervin Bomm.l on the council.
Carried 3 to O.Clerk Nizzi issued the oath of offic'to Bommrl.
The council discussed replacements on the Planning &ZOning Commission.Diff,rnt
names were suggested.Clerk to report at next mE'fting.
Moved by Carpe seconded by Copeland to strip the 1966 Plymouth car and sell same
to Harry Jones for $25.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Larson and seconded by Copeland to grant cigarette permits to the following
Vagabond,Uptown Cafe,Old Bank,Waukee MEat MarkFt,Ed's Tavern,Casry'S,
Golden Spur and Karen's Dairy Sweet.Carried 4 to '1.

Regular council meeting was held July 8,1974 with Mayor Boone presiding and the
following councilmen present--Bornmell,Carpe,Larson and Copsland.Absent-Sears.
Movedby Copeland seconded by Carpe to approve minutes as read.Carried 4 to O.
Merle Rees met with the council regarding the police department and about the
County Ambulance.Also objects to County organization of police department.
Movedby Bommell secollded by Larson to authorize Mayor and Clerk to make payment
on the storm sewer contract.First payment $56,361.01,second payment $37,356.25
and Engineering $8,110.00.Carried 4 to O.
City Clerk,RemoNizzi,read a letter received from Gregory A.Hulse,representing
Gene Franks propsrty in regard to the storm sewer.(Letter attached)
Movedby Copeland seconded by Bornmallto have City Attorney Paul Huscher write a
letter to Gregory Hulse regarding Franks property and offer them $1200 per acre for
their land;330 North &South and 1320 ft.east and west.Motion carried 4-0.
