REGARDING THE SPEED LIMIT ON HICKMAN ROAD A/K/A HIGHWAY 6
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE, IOWA.
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit on
Highway 6 a/k/a Hickman Rd to 45 miles per hour through a portion of the City of Waukee;
AND
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee has determined that the speed limit ordinance concerning
Hickman Road a/k/a Highway 6 should to be added to reflect the new speed limits within the city
limits of the City of Waukee.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1: Chapter 501, Waukee Municipal Code, Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use
of the Streets of Waukee, Iowa, is hereby amended by adding Section 501.9(F)(18) to read as
follows:
§501.9(F)(18) The speed limit on Hickman Road a/k/a Highway 6 within
the city limits of Waukee is 55 miles per hour, except that portion of
Hickman Road aka Highway 6 commencing 630 ft east of Alice's Road to
a point 530 ft west of 10' Street which is 45 miles per hour, as posted.
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section, provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
