HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-12-03-Special MinutesThe council of Waukee met on December 3,1974 at 5 P.M.at city hall pursuant to prior action of the council and to law,for the purpose of receiving and canvassing bids and considering and passing a resolution providing for the award of $145,000 General Obligation Sewer Bonds. The meeting was council members Cope Larid , called to order by Mayor Boone and the following named Present--Carpe,Sears,Larson and Bommel.Absent-- The results of the bids were incorporated in a resolution which was introduced and read in full by Sears under the title of "Resolution to provide for the award of $145,000 G 0 Sewer Bonds".Sears moved that the resolution be adopted,seconded by Bommel.Carried 4 to O. Bids as listed below were received by the council: Shaw,McDermott &Co, Carleton D.Beh Co. Sparks and Co. Ia Des Moines Nat'l Des Moines,Iowa Des Moines,Iowa Des Moines,Iowa Des Moines,Iowa 5.9551 per cent 5.8135 6.0 5.9796 Awarded td Carleton D.Beh Co. (See'prpceedings ). December 9,1974 The regular meeting of the Waukee City:council was held on December 9,1974 with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present. Moved by Carpe,second by Copeland to approve mintes as read.Carried5toO. Engineer Henry Oakes met with the council regarding the grading and other work to be done on Ashworth Road east of 2nd Street to East Road.This parcel of road will be paved by Dallas County in 1975 providing the City of Waukee set up the drainage and grading for this parcel of road, Attorney Paul Huscher is to talk to Dr Johnson's attorney about the storm water going on the Johnson property. Moved by Larson,second by Sears to waive the cost of a buil!llilggppermit for the new school providing a permit be obtained and plans are presented to the City.Carried 5 ~o o. Serving the new school with natural gas was discussed by the council. Moved by Carpe,second by Bommel,that the City of Waukee does not furnish natural gas to the new high school and that the following letter be
