The C01111Cildiscussed the letter received from John Wright,Sheriff of Dallas county,asking the city for $75 per month.It was decided to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors saying that if more money was needed they should levy more on taxation. The council discussed annexation,solid waste and additional water.These future projects to be discussed fur'ther at a future meeting. Meeting adjoUI11ed. Mayor February 10,1975 The regular council meeting was held on February'10,1975 with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present. Moved by Sears,second by Copeland,to approveminutes as read.Carried 5 to O. Representative of Civil Defense met with the council and discussed different phases of Civil Defense.Also attending the meIDting were:County Director of Civil Defense,Curt Murphy--Sherrif John Wright--Dallas County'Health Officer-- Supt.of Schools Clair Eason ..-Rev.Robert Dally--Ray Clark from School Board-- fire chief Jerry Wright and Kate Spoerry. Moved.by Bommel,second by Carpe,to ;;>ppointa committee to investigate the feasii.biJityof forming a civil defense committee.Ron larson was appointed as chairman,lvi th Nayor Boone and.Ramo Nizzi to work on forming a permanent committee on civil defense. Fire Chief,Jerry Wdght,met 1.n.th the councf.L regarding the fire department. The deparunent needs 15 pair of boots at a cost of $645.00 and 200 feet each of different size fire hose.Fire contract to increase from $500.00 to $700.00 per year.Also a discussion was held on a new fire truck.Representatives of fire equipment companies are to be asked in to talk to the council.
