The council of Waukee,Iowa,met in regular session at the City Hall,in
the municipality,at 7:30 P.M.on the Ilrthday of April,1975.The meeting
was called to order by the Mayor and the roll being called,theret;ere present
Bernard Boone,Mayor and the following named members of the council:
Harry Copeland,Hugh Grandfield,Jack Carpe,Mervin Boromel and Ron Larson.
The Mayor announced that this was the time and place set for hearing and
inspection of bids for the construction of the proposed 1975 Storm Sewer Project.
Upon investigation,it was found that no persons had appeared and filed -
objections to the proposed plans.
Bids as follows were recei.ved for the storm sewer on 1st Street.Engineer's
estimate was $56,692.90.9 bids were received.

Low bid was D.C.Construction of Ames with a bid of $52,539.50.
Moved by Grandfield and seconded by Copeland that this meeting be adjourned
to the 21st day of April,1975,at 7:30 P.M.at City Hall and at this time
the council t;111 meet to further consider such proposals.
The council discussed the water problem and instructed the engineer to get
a cost of a water line to Adel.
Mayor Boone read the agreement betsreen the City of Waukee and Dr.Johnson.
Moved by Boromel seconded by Copeland to have Attorney Huscher draw up the
agreement and authorized Mayor and clerk to sign same.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Larson seconded by Boromel to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to ne-
gotiate with the Crime Commission to purchase an additional car with matching
funds;if funds are available and approved.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Carpe and seconded by Grandfield to enter into a contract with the
Minnesota Valley Testing Lab to do waste water testing and water testing for
City of Waukee.Approximate cost $500.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Larson and seconded by Copeland to authorize city clerk to negotiate
for spllaying for mosquitoes with Campbell Flying Service.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by ¢6~~tCopeland seconded by Carpe to open the city park May 1,1975.
Carried 5 to O.
A representative from a fire equipment Company met with the council and
discussed fire trucks.
Moved by Bommel seconded by Grandfield to allow the following claims:
Hawkeye Construction co.
Monton Bui.ldings
Hughes Drilling Co.
Sevmr on L~th
Sardtary on 4th Street
Housing of police cars
Water test holes

21st day of April,1975 at 7:30 P.M.at city hall in special session,
pursuant to la1'1,to adjournment and to the ru.les of the council.'I'he

1.No netr sub-divi.sions be approved until a new wat,er supply is resolved.
2.Until further notice,there 'nIl be no outside watering of any ki.nd,
3.vie strongly urge everyone to conserve water as much as possible.
Motion carried,5 to O.
Movedby Copeland seconded by Larson to pay Robert Hansen $300 for sewer
easement on his property.Carried 5 to O.
