William }lcEllheney,Jr.President of Varner Well &Pump Co ,,met l~tth the Waukee council and discussed theprogress of the new well.He stated that the drilling is complete and also grotting of tlIl cement.Test pumping is no"underwl.y.He stated that l~e can pump 1000 gallon per minute.Addi tiona 1 work by Varner concerning them submitting a bid for complete pump set up was discussed. Noved by Larson seconded by Copeland to pay Varner Pump second estimate as presented by Oakes Engineering,$71,752.50.Carried 4 to O. The council accepted the resignation of Randy Gress as patrolman as of Dec.1. He has accepted a police position with Windsor Heights P.D. Codifications of city ordinances were discussed and Heyer &Company will meet ,rith the council in January. The city council discussed a new library ordinance but it was decided to delay action until the December meeting when Paul RuscheI'will be there. Mayor Boone gave a report on the sanitary sewer along First Street.With future plats the seHer tc go down Christopher instead of Waukee and Gray. Complaints have been received about Gray Construction putting extra dirt along his fence behind Bel Aire and along First Street.Discussion held. Speed ordinance was discussed by the council concerning east of the new school on AshHorth Road. Snow proclamation was discussed by the council.Mayor I s proclamation would be from J~cember 1 to April 1. ~ccording to the official count of the returns of the special census,the populaticn of the city of Waukee,Dallas County,Iowa was 2,005 as of August 19,1975. Run-off election for 2 coucilmen to be held November 18th. Meeting adjourned. November 24,1975
