HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-08-18-Regular Minutes132 August 18,1976 The regular meeting of the Waukee City Council was held on August 18, 1976 with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present. Moved by Larson,second by Copeland,to approve minutes as read. Carried 5 to O. Chief Bob Applegate,Guy Blair,Bud Myers,and Randy Bakker,members of the Waukee fire department,met with the council regarding a 4 X 4grass fire fighter with a 300 gallon tank--approximate cost-- $11,000.00.The 1960 Dodge Fire truck was discussed--the tank needs repair.Door remodeling at the fire station was discussed. Dave Kemmer met with the council regarding a bicycle safety program and licencing.Clerk to order bicycle licences. Leonard Dolmage met with up to our water system. his property to the City the council regarding annexation and hooking He would construct a 10':'water main from park.No action was taken at this time. The clerk was instructed to get in touch with the Milwaukee Railroad and see what can be done about fixing the crossing at 6th Street and Highway 6. Locust street,north of the old school,was discussed by the council. Moved by Grandfield to leave Locust street,north of the school open. No action taken on this motion due to lack of a second.Mayor Boone and Councilman Ron Larson to meet with the school and report back to the full council. Moved by Thompson,second by Copeland,to grant approval for a liquor licence to the Golden Spur.Carried 5 to O. Streets were discussed by the council. The water ordinance was read for the first time. Police officer,Curtis Scott,gave the police report to the council for the month of July--39 traffic tickets issued.Additional equipment was discussed by the council. The council discussed adding chlorine to our water system to comply with state requirements and additional storage was considered.
