The Waukee city council met in regular session on September 13th
at 7:30 P.M at city hall;with Mayor Boone presiding and all
councilmen present.
Lyle Smith,Postmaster,met with the council regarding mail delivery
on Christopher Ave.and other parts of Corene Acres.
Bob Applegate,Fire=Chief met with the council concerning a 3/4
pick-up to be used for grass fires.No action taken at this meeting.
Moved by Copeland seconded by Larson to read the water ordinance
for the second reading.Carried 5 to O.
Mayor Boone reported that at his meeting with school officials,they
wanted to leave Locust Street between 4th and 5th closed from 7:30 A.M.
to 4:30 P.M.
Moved by Gruber seconded by Thompson to amend the Park Ordinance-
Section 1 by deleting paragraph (L)-No beer or alcoholic beverages
in park.Motion lost.2 Yes,3 No.
Snow proclamation to read:NO PARKING ON THE STREETS OF WAUKEE FROM
NOVEMBER 1,1976 TO APRIL 1,1977,TO ALLOW FOR SNOW REMOVAL.
Moved by Gruber seconded by Copeland to approve claim to Slurry Cote
in amount of $10,636.08,and a claim to Iowa Central Regional Assoc-
iation of Local Governments for $500 for the 701 Study.Carried 5-0.
Thomas Belling presented the Mayor a 4X8 aerial photograph of the
City of Waukee.Moved by Grandfield seconded by Copeland to receive
this aerial view on behalf of the city and to send Thomas Belling a
letter showing our appreciation.Carried 5 to O.
Ron Vest presented the police report to the council for the month
of September.
Council to have a joint meeting with the Planning &Zoning on
September 21,1976.

The Waukee City Council held its regular council meeting on
October 18,1976 with Mayor Boone presiding and the following
councilmen present:Harry Copeland,Hugh Grandfield,Dennis
Thompson.Absent:Luke Gruber and Ron Larson.
Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield to approve minutes
as read.Carried 3 to O.

Della Boots met with the council regarding George Ludwig purchasing
her cafe and getting a beer permit.Tentative approval was given
if all signatures needed for the application is obtained by
the applicant.
Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to read the water
ordinance for the 3rd time.Carried 3 to O.IMovedbyCopeland,second by Thompson,to approve hhe water
ordinance as read and the water billing is to be $4.00 per
month for 3000 gallon and .001 per gal over 3000 gallons.

Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield,to approve a fee of
$150.00 to the City of Des Moines police academy for Officer
Ron Vest's schooling from November 1 to December 15.Carried
3 to O.
Firemen Guy Blair,Randy Bakker,Robert Applegate met with
the council regarding new grass fire fighting equipment.The
council will receive bids and report back at next meeting.
Moved by Thompson,second by Copeland,to hire Donna Gorsuch
for additional bookkeeping for 5 hours per day,5 days per
week at a salary of $3.35 per hour.Carried 3 to O.
The council opened bids for a 1977 police car.Holiday Dodge
submitted the low bid of $4995.00.Moved by Grandfield,
second by Thompson to purchase a Plymouth Fury police package
car for the bid of $4995.00.Carried 3 to O.
The condition of the 50,000 water high rise necessitates
repair.Moved by Thompson,second by Copeland to hire
Water Tower of Spirit Lake to inspect and clean out tower
for a cost of $200.00 and give report to council.Carried
3 to O.
Moved by Thompson,second by Copeland,to hire Gardiner,
Nail,Davis,&Co to do the City audit for the fiscal
year 1975-76.Carried 3 to O.

Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson to extend the water line on
Bel-Aire and install a valve for future looping.Bid submitted
by Hawkeye Const--cost of $900.00.Carried 3 to O.

Closing of the City park for the winter will be October 19,1976.
No parking signs will be installed across from the fire station.

The Waukee city council met in regular session on November 8,1976
with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present.
Moved by Copeland,second by Gruber,to approve minutes as read.
Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Thompson,second by Larson,to purchase a 4-wheel drive
3/4 ton Dodge truck for the fire department from Hawkeye Dodge
at a cost of $5640.00.Carried 5 to O.
Engineer Henry Oakes and Paul Huscher are to meet with the Planning
and Zoning Commission on November 22,1976.
Police report was received and filed by the council.
Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield to adopt the following
resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA,
that the Council authorizes the construction of the sewage treatment
works project know as project number (s)Aeration Project and
all contract and agreements necessary thereto.
