The regular meeting of the Waukee city council was called to order
by Mayor Bernard Boone and the following councilmen were present:
Luke Gruber,Dennis Thompson,Ron Larson,and Hugh Grandfield.
Absent:Harry Copeland.
Moved by Grandfield,second by Larson,to approve minutes as read.
Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Thompson,second by Grandfield to approve liquor permit
and Sunday liquor permit to Country Livin.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Larson,second by Grandfield,to grant cigarette permit
to Country Livin.Carried 4 to o.
Moved by Larson,second by Thompson,to authorize city clerk to
purchase a new copy machine at $72.43 per month for 4 years.
Carried 4 to o.
Moved by Thompson,second by Gruber,to authorize Officer Robert
McLaughlin to go to the Police Academy at a cost of $160.00
per month.Carried 3 to 1,Ron Larson voting no.
Mayor Bernard Boone appointed the following patrolmen to the
.rank of Sergeant:Curtis Scott,Richard Romine,and Ronald Vest
and assigned the following duties:
Richard Romine--patrol Sergeant
Curtis Scott----Juvenile &Training Sergeant
Ronald Vest-----Administrative &Investigative
Sergeant
