March 14,1977
Waukee City council met in regular session March 14th at City Hall
with Mayor Boone presiding and councilmen Grandfield,Larson,Gruber
and Thompson present.Absent Copeland.
Moved by Larson seconded by Grandfield to approve minutes as read.
Carried 4 to 0.
Ron Larson reported on tennis courts.Will have more at next meeting.
Discussion was held concerning addition to the city water facilities.
Moved by Larson seconded by Thompson to have the clerk certify the
Budget to County Auditor.General fund levy of 7%plus $1801 carry
over for a total of $97,399 general levy and a total levy of 210,018.
Carried 4 to 0.
Hugh Grandfield had to leave the meeting at this time to attend another
conference.
Moved by Larson seconded by Gruber to allow $326 for final certification
school for Hannah Weil and Remo Nizzi.They have completed 2 years of
school.Carried 3 to 0.
Moved by Thompson seconded by Gruber to reappoint Remo Nizzi as rep-
resentative to Central Iowa Regional Association of Local Government;
and Mayor Bernard Boone to serve as alternate.Carried 3 to 0.
Moved by Thompson seconded by Gruber to adopt the following resolution.
(Resolution attached).
Moved by Larson seconded by Thompson to have Remo Nizzi to attend the
County civil defense meetings.Carried 3 to 0.
The council discussed the ordinance for terms of office for elected
officials.Mayor and council to be on staggered terms.First year
elect mayor and 2 councilmen for a 2 year term and elect 3 councilmen
for 4 year term.
