Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to approve minutes as read. Carried 5 to O. Ron Larson gave a report on tennis courts and he stated two ways to finance the project:Ist--Matching funds 50-50 with BaR.2nd-- Bond issue with an election.Approximate cost of a double tennis courte--$30,000.00 to $35,000.00. The mayor stated the council will study this suggestion and make a recommendation later. A committee of 3 groups representing boys and girls softball & baseball met with the council.They were inquiring about additional ball parks to accomodate the increase of interest in baseball &softball. One group was interested in leasing ground from the City and building and financing their own fields.Another group would like to have one new field this year and temporary fields was also mentioned by another group. Mayor Boone appointed a committee of Ron Larson,Luke Gruber,and Dennis Thompson to meet and see what could be worked out with leasing of the City owned property south of town for ball fields. Moved by Copeland,second by Larson,to meet May 16,1977 for the next regular meeting.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Larson,second by Copeland,to allow Dorthea Sloan to hook up to the city water with expenses of line and hook-up to be constructed and paid for by Mrs Sloan.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Larson,second by Gruber,to refund Mike Blizek DBA The Old Bank $154.37 for liquor licence.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Gruber,second by Copeland,to have Clean up Day on Friday May 6.All rubbish to be put out on curbs by 9:00 a.m.on this date.Carried 5 to O. Ron Vest gave the police r~port to the council. The council gave approval to Dallas County Communication COlmnission for a grant application for LEAA for federal fund--$22,903.00, State funds--$1,145.00,and local county funds--$1,400.00 for continuation of a county-wide communications system which can maintain rapid communications with the patrol,deputies,and response to citizen calls on a 24 hour per day basis.
