Moved by Larson,second by Grandfield,to approve minutes as read.Carried 4 to O. Newly elected councilman Robert Reddinger was introduced to the council. Three bids were received on the proposed new Little League ball park. Low bid was Ray Ferrari Fence at $1984.00. Moved by Larson,second by Thompson,to have clerk check bids and award Ferrari the bid if it meets our specifications.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Larson,second by Grandfield,to purchase alarm system for the Police department at a cost of $95.00.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Thompson,second by Grandfield,to grant renewal of liquor permit for Country Livin.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Copeland,second by Larson,to purchase from Evan Display,2 Christmas decorations and misc.supplies at a total cost of $259.75. Carried 4 to O. Moved by Thompson,second by Grandfield,to approve League of Iowa Municipalities annual dues of $305.00.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to approve first 1978 dues for Central Iowa Regional Plannin at the cost of $236.54.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Copeland,second by Larson,to sponsor with Iowa Power and Light utilities,a sky-line survey at a cost of $650.00.Carried 4 to O. Cable TV was discussed by the council.The clerk was instructed to find out more information. Sgt.Scott gave the monthly police report. Moved by Larson,second by Copeland,to purchase 4 chest shields for the police department at the approximate cost of $435.00.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Larson,second by Copeland,that all policemen on tour of duty must wear the chest shields.Carried 4 to O. The County Auditor and Board of Supervisors certified that the following were elected at ,the regular city election on November 8,1977:Bernard Boone for a 2-year term as Mayor and Rarry Copeland,Rugh Grandfield, Luke Gruber,Robert Reddinger,and Dennis Thompson were elected to 2-year terms as councilmen. Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield,to purchase from Thorpe Well Co a 40 horsepower,460 volt Valley submersable pump and motor for well #1 at a cost of $4839.85.Carried 4 to O. ---l I November 2l--cont-- Moved by Larson,second by Copeland,to approve National Tank Maintenance contract for 1976 for $523.00 and contract for 1977 for $523.00.Carried 4 to O. Claire Chedester met with the council regarding zoning changes to meet with Paul Huscher concerning publications of new zoning regulations. The council also instructed the Planning &Zoning Commission that all electrical must be placed underground. Moved by Larson,second by Thompson,to comply with the wishes of the DEQ concerning step #1.Council to interview possible engineers in Jannary. Carried 4 to O. Ceta Manpower appropriation extended to January 28,1978. Moved by Copeland,second by Larson,to renew insurance policy with T K Insurance Co.Carried 4 to O. The snow proclamation was issued from December 1 to April 1,1978. Moved by Copeland,second by Larson,to grant Bob's Quality Foods a beer permit effective February 1,1978.Carried 5 to O.
