January 23,1978
A special meeting was held January 23,1978 at Waukee City Rall at 7:30 p.m.
with Mayor Boone presiding and the following councilmen present:Rugh
Grandfield,Luke gruber.Rarry Copeland,Robert Reddinger,Dennis Thompson.
Moved by Grandfield,second by Gruber,that minutes be approved.as read.
Carried 5 to O.
This meeting was called to meet with Kirkham,Michael,and Associates
concerning the SSES survey study for the City of Waukee.
Moved by Thompson,second by Reddinger,
Evalution Survey with DEQ is requiring.

Moved by Gruber,second by Thompson,that the following resolution be
adopted:
RESOLUTION NO.1507
Resolution authorizing filing of application with Environmental Protection
Agency,United States of America,for a Grant under the Federal Water Pollutio
Control Act Amendments (33 U.S.C.1251 et seq.).
WHEREAS under the terms of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments
(33 U.S.C.1251 et seq.),the United States of America has authorized the
making of grants to authorized applicants to aid in the construction of
specific public projects,
NOW,TREREFORE,be it resolved by the City of Waukee,Iowa
1.That Remo Nizzi be and he is hereby authorized to execute and file an
application on behalf of the City of Waukee,Iowa with the United States
Government for a grant to aid in the construction of SSES study.
2.That Remo Nizzi,clerk-administrator be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to furnish such information as the Environmental Protection Agency
may reasonably request in connection with the application which is herein
authorized to be filed,sign all necessary documents on behalf of the
applicant,to furnish such assurances to the Environmental Protection Agency
as may be required by law or regulation,and receive payment.
CERTIFICATE OF RECORDING OFFICER
The undersign duly qualified and acting Clerk of the City of Waukee,Iowa
does hereby certify:
That the attached resolution is a true and correct copy of the resolution
authorizing the filing of an application with the Envirommenta1 Protection
Agency as regularly adopted at a legally convened meeting of the City of
Waukee,Iowa duly held on the 23rd day of January,1978;and,further,
that such resolution has been fully recorded in the journal of proceedings
and records in my office.

calling for an election on tennis courts.Carried 4 to O.

FEBRUARY 13.1978
The Waukee City council held its regular council meeting on February 13,1978
with Mayor Bernard Boone presiding and the following councilmen present:
Dennis Thompson,Rugh Grandfield,Harry Copeland,Robert Reddinger.Absent:
Luke Gruber.
Moved by Grandfield,second by Heddinger,to approve minutes as read.
Carried 4 to O.
Tom Gratias of Gratias Construction met with the council regarding the possibility
of water hook-up in his proposed plat north of the Des Moines Golf &Country
Club on University Ave.Gratias Construction to pay for the cost of the line.
The council advised Gratias Construction to meet with the Waukee Planning &
Zoning Commission on March 6,1978.
Dr Dwight Keller,Doug Pogge,and other members of the Waukee Jay-Cees presented
to the council a signed petition regarding tennis courts.
Council member Robert Reddinger introduced and caused to be read Resolution No
6000,entitled:"Resolution calling an election on the proposition of
issuing general obligation bonds for the purpose of improving the City Park by
the construction of tennis courts",and moved its adoption,seconded by
Council Member Dennis Thompson.After due consideration of the resolution
by the Council,the Mayor put the question upon the motion and the roll being
called,the following named Council Members Voted:
Ayes:Robert Reddinger,Dennis Thompson,Rarry Copeland,Hugh Grandfield
Nays:None
Whereupon,the Mayor declared the resolution duly adopted and signed his
approval therto.
