March 14,1978
A special meeting was held on March 14,1978 at 6:00 p.m.at
city hall.This meeting was the hearing on budget for fiscal
year 1978-79.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bernard Boone and all
councilmen were present.
The hearing was published in the Dallas County News.
No oral or written objections to the budget were filed.
Moved by Copeland,second by Heddinger,to approve budget and
certify to the County Auditor.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield,to have Gardiner,Nail,
Davis,and Co do the city audit.Carried 5 to O.

March 20,1978
The Waukee city council held its regular meeting on March 20,1978
with Mayor Boone presiding and all councilmen present.
Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield,to approve minutes as
read.Carried 5 to O.
John Reich met with the council regarding Sahu Acres,14 lots north
of Waukee.This has been approved by the Waukee Planning &Zoning.
Moved by Gruber,second by Heddinger,to comply with county regulations
subdivisions out of city limits by approving site plan of Sahu Acres.
Carried 5 to O.
Representative of Foam Molding Corp of 800 University Ave met with
the council regarding the Ram building and issuing Industrial bonds.
Council to appoint a committee to investigate this firm.
Ron Jackson of Kirkland,Michael &Assoc met with the council
regarding SSES study and basement drains and also the signing of
Planning Management agreement with CIRALG.
Moved by Heddinger,second by Gruber,not to sign the agreement
concerning basement drains.Carried 5 to O.
A clean-up day for the City of Waukee will be held in May.
Parking in front of the new Methodist church on the south side of
Ashworth was discussed by the council.The church would like to
move the curb back and use the land for parking.Paul Huscher
to check on legalities.

Gratias Construction met with the council regarding his development.
Moved by Gruber,second by Copeland,to allow 2 firemen,Randy Bakker
and Doug Pogge,to go to EMT school at a cost of $128.10 each.
Carried 5 to O.
Water cistern on Walnut &8th Street to be abandoned and filled with
sand.
Streets and what to do was discussed by the council.This year,
slurry will cost 60¢sq yd.
Storm sewer in the west part of town came up for discussion.Clerk
to get together with Henry Oakes and report back to the council.
A group of citizens attended the council meeting voicing their
opinions against the tennis courts which is to be voted on March 21.

The election on tennis courts was held on March 21,1978 and failed
to carry.Results of voting:

April 3,1978
A special meeting of the Waukee city council was held on April 3,
1978 with Mayor Boone presiding and all council present except
Gruber.
This meeting was called regarding the DEQ hearing on March 30.
Ron Jackson of Kirkland,Michael &Assoc also met with the council
and Paul Huscher.
Flow measurment must be installed by September 1,1978.
Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to instruct attorney to
draw up amended agreement regarding the ClRALG Management.
