Moved by Grandfield,second by Thompson,to approve minutes as read. Carried 5 to O. Bud Gray p r e sen t e d final Plat 1i8 of Corene Acres for the council's approval. Moved by Copeland,second by Heddinger,to approve Bud Gray Plat #8 as presented.Carried 5 to O. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CORENE ACRES PLAT (8), A SUBDIVISION OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,DALLAS COUNTY,IOWA. IvdEREAS,Bud Gray Construction Company,Inc.,has presented a final plat (8)to Waukee Planning &Zoning and the Waukee Planning&Zoning has approved this Blat (8),on May 1,1978 and WHEREAS,The City of Waukee,at its regular council meeting May 8,1978,approved final Plat (8),Corene Acres,Waukee,Iowa, Dallas County. Whereupon,the Mayor declared the resolution carried and duly adopted. Jim Berner presented to the council his letter of resignation from the Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission.Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to accept Jim Berner's resignation.Carried 5 to O. Joe Brick and Bill Inman,Jr.presented to the council a plan regarding building 4-24 plex apartments of the Dorthea Sloan property east of 4th Street. II, 171 May 8---cont Moved by Grandfield,second by Copeland,to extend a 12"water line from the new tower to Corene Acres.Carried 5 to O. Tom Gratias met with the council regarding his proposed development north of the Des Moines Golf &Country Club.The council made the statement to Tom Gratias that his development must meet the same requirements that is required of a developer in the City of Waukee and must follow the same sub-division regulations concerning water, streets,and sewer. Mary Vokes met with the council.regarding water standing along the back of her property along the railroad. Two representatives of Foam Plastics met with the council in regard to purchasing the Ram Corp building.They will not need any industrial bonds from the city but they will need natural gas.The council stated that they were talking to Northern Natural Gas at the present to try to increase the city's contract demand because we do have customers waiting for hook-up. Bob Applegate met with the council representing the fire department. Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson,to allow 10 firement to attend fire school at a total cost of $1000.00.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Gruber,second by Copeland,to allow the Waukee Volunteer Fire Department $950.00 for rural fire contract.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Gruber,second by Grandfield,to enter into a mutual fire contract with other fire departments in the county.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Thompson,second by Grandfield,to purchase an addressograph at a cost of $63.50 per month for 36 months on a lease purchase. Carried 5 to O. Moved by Copeland,second by Reddinger to ~old a public hearing on the revised zoning ordinance and the comprehensive plan on May 15, 1978.Carried 5 to O. PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Waukee City Council will hold a public hearing on the·15th day of May,1978 at 7:30 o'clock P.M., CST in the Waukee Council Chambers at the Waukee City RaIl,Waukee, Iowa. This hearing will be for the purpose of hearing thoughts,both pro and con,with regard to the comprehensive revised development plan and revised zoning ordinance which has been developed by the Waukee Planning &Zoning Commission within the past months and which have been submitted by final report to the Waukee City council for official adoption. Copies of the revised regulations,restrictions,and boundaries of the district as contained in the revised zoning ordinance are now on file at the city clerks'office and may be reviewed and .examingd during regulat business hours--8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.Monday thru ,Friday and 8:30 a.m.to 11:00 a.m.on Saturdays until the time of the hearing. 172 May 8,1978---cont Published upon order of the City Council of Waukee,Iowa. Mayor May 15,1978 The Waukee City council held a special hearing on May 15,1978 as published in the Dallas County News.This hearing was for the up- grading of the Waukee Zoning Ordinance and the 1990 Comprehensive Plan. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Boone and the following councilmen were present:Hugh Grandfield,Harry Copeland,Robert Heddinger,Dennis Thompson,and Luke Gruber. There was no written objections.Moved by Grandfield,second by Thompson,to have first reading of Ordinance.Carried 5 to O. Bill Inman,Jr.asked for R-3 zoning along 4th Street and also for 350 ft wide going east along the railroad.He also asked for R-4 zoning for the 40 acres on the corner of Highway 6 and East St. Moved by Copeland,second by Heddinger,to approve,receive and file the 1990 Comprehensive Plan.Carried 5 to O. Ron Olson met with the council regarding his bulk plant along Highway 6. The council also discussed C-l from Laurel St north to Highway 6. The next hearing will be May 23,1978 at 6:30 p.Ill.at city hall. Moved by Gruber,second by Copeland,to sponsor Red Cross swimming lessons at Adel.Carried 5 to O. Moved by Heddinger,second by Gruber,to sponsor the Middle School Clean-Up Day.Carried 5 to O. Meeting adjourned. Mayor May 22,1978 A special meeting was held on May 22,1978 for the second reading of the updated zoning ordinance.The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bernard Boone and the following councilmen were present: Harry Copeland,Robert Heddinger,Hugh Grandfield,and Dennis Thompson.Absent:Luke Gruber. ~/Moved by ~opeland,second by Thompson,to read the updated zoning ordinance for the second time.(}arried 4 to O.
