The regular council meeting was held on October 9,1978 with Mayor
Boone presiding and all councilmen present.
Moved by Gruber,second by Copeland,to approve minutes as read.
Carried 5 to O.
The council discussed the petition received by the City regarding
the police department wanting to join the Teamsters Union.
Gary Bagby of 150 Christopher met with the council regardin8 motor-
cycles,moped,and cars speeding on his street.
Moved by Copeland,second by Grandfield,to approve payment 2 for
$105,763,50 and payment 3 for $47,396.70 to Pittsburgh-Des Moines
Steel for water tower.Carried 5 to 0.
Moved by Thompson,second by Reddinger,to pay Rawkeye Construction
2nd payment--$9,569.66 and 3rd payment--$1,3l9.53 for main
extension to new tower.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Thompson,second by Reddinger to purchase a 3/4 ton pick-up.
Paul Cunningham was low bidder at $5,076.00.Yes--Thompson,
Copeland,Reddinger,Grandfield.No--Gruber.Motion carried.
Moved by Copeland,second by Reddinger,to Durchase a flow meter
for outfall line from 1SCO Company at a cost of $1640.00.Carried
5 to 0.
A police car was discussed by the council.
