Mable Loschen and Guido Barbieri met with the council regarding water
standing in front of their properties.Curb &gutter was discussed as
a solution to this problem.Council to make a study of this problem.
Moved by Oetting,second by Reddinger,to issue $50,000.00 GO bonds to
pay for street repair on Northview,3rd St,and Waukee Ave and for
slurry coat on other city streets.Carried 3 to O.Rearing to be
published in Dallas County News.
Moved by Copeland,second by Reddinger to approve claims as presented
by clerk as follows:

Superintendent Clair Eason and JoAnn Zimmerman representing the school
board met with the council regarding firm gas commitment for heating
season 79·80.Northern Natural Gas is to release additional gas but
at this time,no official announcement has been made to the city.
The papal visit was discussed by the council.City Rall to be closed
on October 4 but employees will work on October 8,Columbus Day,which
is usually a legal holiday.
Rearing on Industrial Bonds for Wittern Realty (Fawn Engineering)will
be September 17,1979 at 7:30 p.m.
Storm sewer was discussed by the council.

A special meeting was held on September 17 on Industrial Bonds.Meeting
was called to order by Mayor pro-tern Rarry Copeland.Councilmen
presnet:Larry Oetting,Dennis Thompson,&Bob Reddinger.Absent:
Mayor Boone.
This meeting was called for a hearing on resolution authorizing the
issuance of sale of industrial bonds.No oral or written opposition was
given.
Moved by Reddinger,second by Oetting to adopt
the Issuance and Sale of Industrial Development
(Wittern Realty,Inc.Project)in the aggregate
$700,000.00.Motion carried 3 to O.

The storm sewer was discussed by the council.
Moved by Heddinger,second by Thompson,to publish a hearing notice on
50,000 Gillbonds for streets improvement and authorizing sale for October
1,1979 at 5:30 p.m.Carried 3 to O.

A special hearing was held on October 1,1979 with Mayor Boone presiding
and councilmen present:Thompson,Copeland and Heddinger.Larry Oetting
arrived later in the meeting.
No oral or written objections to 50,000 street improvement bonds.
Two bids were received for bonds:
laDes Moines Natl Bank bid was 6.58%
R G Dickinson bid was 6.50%
Shaw-McDermott's bid was too late for consideration
Moved by Copeland,second by Thompson to award R G Dickinson bid for bond.
Council member Harry Copeland introduced an ordinance entitled "Amending
Ordinance.An ordinance amending ordinance establishing rates and
charges for the use of services of the Municipal Water System of Waukee,
Iowa,passon on October 18,1976."
It was moved by Council member Dennis Thompson and seconded by Council
Member Robert Reddinger that the aforementioned ordinance be adopted.
The Mayor put the question on the motion and the roll being called,
the following name Council members voted:
Ayes:Robert Reddinger,Harry Copeland,Larry Oetting &
Dennis Thompson
Nays:None
Whereupon,the Mayor declared the motion duly carried and declared that
said ordinance had been given its initial passage.
It was moved by Council Member Robert Heddinger and seconded by Council
Member Harry Copeland that the statutory rule requiring said ordinance
to be considered and voted on for passage at two Council meetings prior to
the meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended.The Mayor
put the question on the motion and the roll being called,the following
named Counci~Members voted:
Ayes:Robert Heddinger,Harry Copeland,Larry Oetting,&
Dennis Thompson
Nays:None
Whereupon,the Mayor declared the motion duly carried.
