HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-05-01-Special Minutes13 May 1,1980 A special meeting of the Waukee city council was held on May 1,1980 with Mayor-elect Harry Copeland presiding and the following councilmen present:Art Spencer Curtis Scott,and Jim Higgs.Absent:Larry Oetting.Erwin Jansma,councilman-elect,was also present. Brian Redshaw,clerk-administrator,gave the oath of office to Mayor- elect Harry Copeland and councilman-elect,M Erwin Jansma. Moved by Scott,second by Spencer,to approve the minutes of April 14,1980.Carried 4 to O. Moved by Higgs,second by Scott,to approve the minutes of April 23 1980.Carried 4 to O. This special meeting was held to discuss the order of revising and updating city ordinances.The council decided to hold the following meetings on ordinances: May 5--7:30 p.m.--Traffic and Criminal ordinances--Chap 500-600 May 13--7:30 p.m.--Misce11aneous ordinances--Chap 100 May 19--7:30 p m.--Civi1 ordinances--Chap 200 May 27--7 30 p.m.--Zoning and Public Health ordinances--Chap 300-400 Mayor Copeland appointed Larry Oetting as Mayor pro tem. Moved by Scott,second by Jansma,to adjourn.Carried 4 to O. Meeting adjourned. May 5,1980 A special meeting of the Waukee city council was held on May 5,1980 at 7:30 p.m.with Mayor Copeland presiding and all councilmen present.Attorney Paul Huscher was also present. This meeting was called to review and revise existing traffic and criminal ordinances. Moved by Higgs,second by Scott,to approve minutes as read,Carried 5 to O. The clerk reported that at the zoning change hearing,there was no written or oral objections to rezone Ray Burger's property from R-2 to C-2 Moved by Oetting,second by Scott,to rezone the following parcel of ground from R-2 to C-2: Beginning at the North-North-West corner of Lot 1,Block 12, of the Original Plat of the Town of Waukee,Iowa,said point being 85.0 ft.N-59 deg.50'W of the North-East Corner of said Lot 1 Block 12 and 50.0 ft.normally distant South- West of the Centerline of the main track of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway;Thence S-O deg-OO',57.83 ft.;Thence N-59 deg-50'W,along a line parallel with and 100.0 ft normally distant South-West of the Centerline of the main track of the Chicago &Northwestern Railway,40.00 ft.Thence N-O deg-OO',along the East Right-of-way line of Fourth Street, 57.83 ftc Thence S-59 deg-50'E,along a line parallel with and 50.0 ,ft.normally distant South-West of the Centerline of the main track of the Chicago &Northwestern Railway,40.00 ft to the point of beginning. All of said parcel being located in the East ~of the Northwest 3/4 of Section 33;T-79-N,R-26-W,Town of Waukee,Dallas County,Iowa and contains approximately 2000 square feet. Also Lot 1,2,and 3 of Block 12 in the original town of Waukee and west 45'of Lot 1 in Burgers addition to the town of Waukee.
