June 9,1980
The regular meeting of the Waukee city council was held on June
9,1980 with Mayor Copeland presiding and all councilmen
present.
The minutes were read.and amended to read;'Hearing on the
amendment on building permit fees will be held on June 24,
1980 at 7:30 p.m.'.
Moved by Scott,second by Jansma,to approve corrected minutes.
Carried 5 to O.
Bob Heddinger met with the council in.regard to having a pig
roast on June 28 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.at the rear of his
business establishment.The council voiced no objections.
Bud Gray met with the council regarding requirement of perform-
ance and maintainance bonds for plat development,
Moved by Higgs,second by Jansma,to approve preliminary plat
#10.Carried 5 to O.
Doug Pogge,representing the fire department,talked with the
council on fire school for 6 men.
Moved by Higgs,second by Scott,to send 6 men at a cost of
$100.00 each to fire school.Carried 5 toO.
Moved by Higgs.second by Jansma,to reimburse the fire dept
$400.00 p~rc.~+."..,.+in December,1979.Carried 5 to O.
Ron Jackson with KMA met with the council regarding the SSES
study.
Moved by Jansma,second by Spencer,to adopt the following
resolution:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa:
The Mayor of the City of Waukee,Harry Copeland,
is hereby authorized to execute and file applications
on behalf of the City of Waukee,Iowa with the Iowa
Department of Environmental Quality and the United
States Environmental Protection Agency,and that he
be further authorized to submit other documents as
required,accept the grant offer and act for the City
of Waukee in all grant related matters for an
amended Step 1,Section 201 Construction Grant for
the completion of a Facility Plan in the City of
Waukee.

Moved by Oetting,second by Jansma,to adopt the following
resolution:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa:
That the engineering agreement dated June 9 1980
be accepted and the engineer is directed to submit
an agreement and grant application to the appropriate
agencies.
Carried 4 to l--Scott voting No.
A letter from Dallas County Health Department was presented
concerning property at 555 Laurel.Clerk was directed to
send letter to property owner giving him 30 days to correct
this situation.
The council decided that if a property owner does not cut grass
and weeds regularly the City's charge will be $35.00 per hour
to do this.

The clerk was directed to post notices to receive bids on the
1975 police car.
Merle Rees met with the council concerning the gas tank purchased
from Farmer's Coop,cemetary fence,dog problems,and police
department.
Doug Pogge,representing Brenton State Bank,discussed with
the council the arrangements to be made on the stamped warrants.
Moved by Higgs,second by Oetting,to pay the following bills
as cash flow permits:

hearing and sale of bonds on the west end storm sewer project
for June 24,1980 at 7;30 p.m.at city hall.Carried 5 to O.
