AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2022 AMBULANCE FROM FOSTER COACH
SALES OF STERLING, IL IN THE AMOUNT OF S240,413.00 (WAUKEE FIRE
DEPARTMENT1
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee. Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2011, the Waukee City Council approved the purchase of an
ambulance from Feld Fire of Carroll, IA, in the amount of $160,000.00 (Resolution 411-100);
AND,
WHEREAS, there is a need to replace the 2011 ambulance, as the expected life of the
ambulance chassis is approximately ten years; AND,
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2020, the Waukee City Council approved an Interlocal Contract
for Cooperative Purchasing between Houston -Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and the Waukee
Fire Department to provide product pricing that is pre -negotiated, negating the need for the
specification and public bidding process (Resolution #2020-418); AND,
WHEREAS, through the H-GAC group purchasing consortium, the Waukee Fire Department
recommends approval of the purchase of a 2022 ambulance from Foster Coach Sales of Sterling,
IL, in the amount of $240,413.00;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
5"' day of April, 2021, that it hereby authorizes the purchase of a 2022 ambulance from Foster
Coach Sales of Sterling, II_, in the amount of $240,413.00.
