RESOLUTION 2021-158
APPROVING TRIUMPH PARK CONTRIBUTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
WAUKEE BETTERMENT FOUNDATION AND THE CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Waukee, Dallas County, State of Iowa, is a duly organized Municipal
Organization; AND,
WHEREAS, the City has budgeted public funds for the purpose of construction and development of a
recreation and sports complex known as Triumph Park ("City Project") but there is a need for
supplemental funding from private sources to complete the full build -out of the complex; AND,
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2020, the Waukee City Council approved a Triumph Park Contribution
Agreement with the Waukee Betterment Foundation (the "Foundation") to aid in the completion of
Miracle Field surfacing thereby completing the Miracle Field in the first phase, as well as an Epic
Playground (Resolution #2020-341); AND,
WHEREAS, the Foundation has been raising private funds for the addition of a fishing pier for the use of
the general public, including, but not limited to, persons with disabilities, and is in the process of raising
funds to privately fully fund the construction of a fishing pier; AND,
WHEREAS, the City and Foundation desire to enter into an agreement setting forth the respective
obligations of the both parties toward the funding and construction of the fishing pier.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, that the
Triumph Park Contribution Agreement between the Waukee Betterment Foundation and the City of
Waukee is hereby approved.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee, Iowa, and approved this the 5"' day of April,
2021.
