HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-12-09-Regular Minutes·35 December 9,1980 The regular meeting of the Waukee city council was held on December 9, 1980 at 7:30 p.m.with Mayor Copeland presiding and all councilmen present. Guests at this meeting were:Gordon Christianson,Ron Mentzer, Bobby Holliday,Joan Holliday,Terry Jennings,Ron Jackson,Jay Hughes,and Diane Aldrich. Moved by Scott,second by Jansma,to approve the minutes of November 11,25,and December 2.Carried 5 to O. Gordon Christianson of 125 Waukee met with the council regarding the dog problem in Waukee.The council responded that the situation was adequately being handled by the police department. Diane Aldrich represented the Library Board before the council. She presented the following expiration dates for the present members of the library board: 1980--Margaret Grisso 1982--Beth Jansma Phoebe Bartelt 1984--Diane Aldrich Joyce VonRuden 1986--John Winkler Jane Brown Appointment to the Library Board is for 6 years, Moved by Scott,second by Spencer,to accept the Library Board recommendations for the above expiration dates, Diane Aldrich informed the council that Margaret Grisso had submitted her resignation effective January 1,1981. Moved by Jansma,second by Oetting,to adopt the following resolution: RESOLUTION The City of Waukee deeply appreciates the 11 years of service contributed by Margaret Grisso to the Library Board since February,1969. Carried 5 to O. Ron Jackson with KMA met with the council regarding the SSES study and updating of sanitary sewer system to handle year 2000 flows. The city administrator presented quotations on 16 Plain Paper copiers.His recommendation was to purchase a Canon NP 200 for $3495.50. Moved by Scott,second by Jansma,to purchase a Canon NP 200 Plain Paper copier from Midwest Calculator for $3495.50 out of Federal Revenue Sharing funds.Roll call vote was as follows: Yes:Scott,Jansma,Spencer No:Higgs,Oetting. Carried 3 to 2. Jay Hughes met with the council regarding the condition of East Rd. The council informed Mr Hughes that the earliest possible date for repairing this road would be in the spring.
