The organizational meeting for 1981 was held on January 5,1981.Mayor
Copeland presided and all councilmen were present.
Approval of the minutes was deferred until the January 12,1981 regular
council meeting.
Moved by Scott,second by Jansma,to make the official depository Brenton
State Bank in Waukee with Raccoon Valley State Bank in Adel as alternate.
Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Oetting,second by Spencer,to make the official newspaper for
publications the Dallas County News and the Des Moines Register as
alternate.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Higgs,second by Oetting,to retain Paul Huscher as city attorney
at $250.00 per month.Carried 4 to O--Jansma abstaining.
Moved by Jansma,second by Oetting,not to retain the service of Henry
Oakes as city engineer.Carried 5 to O.Selection of city engineer
will be made after the city clerk makes an adequate search.~
A lengthy discussion was held concerning the percentage increase for
city employees.

Moved by Higgs,seco~d by Jansma,to give all/city employees a 10%
increase with exceptions of Phillips &Redshaw,to be given 5%.
