Bids from Bud Gray,Duane Felt,and Don Kamm were considered to
construct an air lock in front of City Hall.
Moved by Christianson,second by Rees,to approve the bid of
Don Kamm in the amount of $1328.540 Carried 5 to O.
Bids from Riverside Equipment,John's Auto Service and Schlief &
Sons were considered for the overhaul of the International Lo-Bay.
Moved by Jansma,second by Rees,to approve the bid of John's Auto
Service with an amount not to exceed $950.00.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Jansma,second by Christianson,to approve the purchase
of a sander with an amount not to exceed $3500-.00,a 4-Hheel drive
pickup with an amount not to exceed $6500.00,and a snow blade
with an amount not to exceed $1000.00.Carried 5 to O.
Moved by Christianson,second by Jansma,to approve the FY 81-82
budget amendment as presented and to publish same in Dallas County
News.The hearing date will be May 11,1982 at 7:00 p.m.Carried

The May regular City council meeting was called to order at
on May 11,1982 at city hall.Mayor Joe Neubauer presided.

minutes.Carried 4 to O.
Guests at this meeting were:~1ark Casey,Neil Kirsten,Bob Christianson,
Doug Brickert,Roger Buffington,Randy Applegate,and Frank Hoifeldt.
A zoning change hearing was held as published in the Dallas County
News to change the following parcel of ground from C-2 to R-3:
"Commencing at the NE Cor NE\NH\Sec 33T79N R26"J of the
5th P.M.Dallas County,Iowa,thence West 640 feet to the
point of beginning,thence south 264 feet,thence Hest
360.75 feet to the east line of 6th St.,thence North 70
feet,thence East 160.75.feet,thence j\Torth194 feet,thence
East 200 feet to the point of beginning."
Councilman Rees introduced an amendment to the Haukee Zoning
ordinance that would change the.above parcel of land from C-2 to
R-3 zoning.
Moved by Councilman Rees,and seconded by Councilman Scott that
the Zoning ordinance amendment be now read by the City Clerk.The
Mayor put the question on the motion,and the roll being called,

It was moved by Councilman Rees,and seconded by Councilman Scott,that
the rule that an ordinance must be received and filed at two meetings
prior to the meeting when final action is taken or,if published in
summary,be received and filed at one meeting prior to the meeting of
final action,be dispensed with.The Mayor put the question on the
motion,and the roll being passed,the following named councilmen voted:

Doug Brickert of Hunter Insurance Agency spoke to the city council
regarding additional coverage on the marine schedule and contents of
the City Hall.
Moved by Rees,second by Oetting,to approve the additional coverage
with a combined premium of $188.00.Carried 4 toO.
Siebolt Hettinga of Hettinga Equipment Co.spoke to the council in
reference to the construction of a 60,000 sq.ft.plant.
Randy Applegate of the Waukee Volunteer Fire Dept.made a presentat~on
concerning equipment needs.The Mayor directed the City Administrator
to write a letter to the Dallas County Board of Supervisors concerning
the extension of the radio tower to alleviate pager reception problems.
Moved by Oetting,second by Christianson,to approve the purchase of
22 bunker pants at a price of $22.00 each to be paid for after July 1,
1982.Carried 4 to O.
Roger Buffington of Snyder &Assoc.presented some alterations to the
proposed 1982 asphalt paving plan.A bid letting hearing on this
project will be held on June 1,1982 at 7:30p.m.

resolution:
RESOLUTION NO.3
A resolution amending the current budget for the fiscal year ending
June 30,1982 (As amended last on March 9,1981)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa;
Section 1.Following notice published April 21,1982 and the public
hearing held May 11,1982,the current budget (as previously amended)
is amended as set out herein and in the detail by fund and activity
that supports this resolution which was considered at that hearing.

The City council discussed computerized financial management (CAIFMIS)
Moved by Scott,second by Oetting,to send a letter to Jack Whitmer of
Iowa State University indicating the city's interest in being involved
in CAIFMIS.Carried 3 to l--Rees voting No.
Moved by Christianson,second by Oetting,to continue the city's
involvement in the Ice Cream Socials and Red Cross Swimming Lessons
in the same capacity as last year.Carried 4 toO.

Due to the fact that nothing additional had been received from the
parties contacted,no action was taken on the petitions for voluntary
annexation items on the agenda.

Prohibiting Open Burning Within the City Limits of the City of Waukee,Iowa
as presented on its first reading on April 13,1982 to allow.the
burning of paper products by residents of residential dwellings of 4
families or less.A roll call vote was taken as follows:

The City Administrator presented various options with regard to the
City's mailing equipment lease.
Moved by Oetting,second by Christianson,to purchase the existing
equipment from U.S.Leasing for $395.60.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Christianson,second by Scott,to approve the purchase of
a TR-200 Regency radio from C H Schutter Co,Inc in the amount of
$441.50 for use in the 4 wheel drive Chevrolet pickup.Carried 4 to O.
Moved by Oetting,second by Scott,to adjourn at 11:38 p.m.Carried

~special meeting of the Waukee council was held on June 1,1982 at
7:30 p.m.Mayor Joseph Neubauer presided and all councilmen were
present.This meeting was called to open bids for the 1982 Asphalt
Paving Project.
The Mayor asked for any oral or written questions or objections to
the proposed plan and specifications for the 1982 Asphalt Paving Project.
None were received or expressed.
MOved by Jansma,second by Scott,to approve the plans and specifications
for the 1982 Asphalt Paving Project.Carrired 5 to O.
The following sealed bids were opened and read by the City Clerk:
