February 26,1985
A special meeting of the Waukee City Council was held on February
26,1985 and was called to order by Mayor pro tem Bob Barrett at
7:33 p.m.Brian J.Redshaw was present and takinf minutes.
A roll call was taken and
Barrett,Rees,and Stork.

Absent:Mayor Gordon Christianson and
The following guests and staff were also present:Bill Inman,Marc
Stiles,Steve Venard,Remo Nizzi,Don Henson,Dennis Snyder,and Dr.
Steve Padgitt.
A FY 84-85 budget amendment hearing was held as published in the
Des Moines Register.Mayor pro tem Robert Barrett asked for any
questions,comments,or objections to the proposed additional appro-
priation of $7587.00 of Federal Revenue Sharing funds for a 1985
Ford police car.None,either oral or written,were received by the
City Clerk.He noted that $4500.00 had already been appropriated.
Moved by Rees,second by Barrett,to approve Resolution No.29 .

A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CURRENT BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30,1985 (AS AMENDED LAST ON NOVEMBER 16,1984.)
BE IT RESOLVED By the Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa:
SECTION 1.Following notice published February 21,1985 and the
public hearing held February 26,1985,the current budget (as prev-
iously amended)is amended as set out herein and the detail by fund
and activity that supports this resolution which was considered at
that hearing:
REASON:Purchase of Police caf with Federal Revenue Sharing funds.

A roll call was taken as follows:

Motion carried 2 to 1
Moved by Rees,second by Barrett,to authorize the City Clerk to
purchase a 1985 Ford police car at a cost of $12,087.00.Motion
carried 2 to 1.
Dr.Steven Padgitt of Iowa State University presented the results of
the Community Needs Survey.Copies of the Executive Summary and
Briefing Paper are available at the City Clerk's office.
Steve Venard of Bishop Engineering addressed the Council regarding
the Mary Ann Estates Plat 2 construction drawings ..Ii.is.client,
Bill Inman was also present at the meeting ..
After an extended discussion involving the Council,Dennis Snyder,
and Steve Venard,the Council decided to delay action on the approval
of the storm sewer plans.It was requested that the City Attorney
review the easements secured by Bill and Jack Inman regarding their
desirability to the City of \vaukee in addition to their transferability.
Paul Huscher is to be ready with these opinions by the special meeting
scheduled for March 5,1985 at 5:30 p.m.(This meeting was later changed
to March 7,1985 at 7:30 p.m.)
Moved by Stork,second by Barrett,to apnrove the water and sewer
plans for Mary Ann Estates Plat #2.Carried 2 to O--Rees abstaining.

Merle Rees will construct a chart including area building and sewer
permit fees and have it ready for presentation at the March 12 regular
City Council meeting.
Discussion on sump pump lines for new plats was delayed until the
March 12 meeting.
Brian J.Redshaw presented the proposed FY 85-86 budget as prepared
by the Budget Committee.Some discussion regarding the proposed
purchase of a John Deere tractor transpired.
Moved by Stork,second by Rees,to set March 12,1985 at 7:30 p.m.
as the date for the FY 85-86 budget hearing and publish the same
in the Dallas County News.Carried 3 to O.
Moved by Stork,second by Barrett to adjourn at 10:37 p.m.Carried
3 to O.
Meeting adjourned.

A special meeting of the Ivaukee City Council was called to order
at 7:30 p.m.by Mayor Gordon Christianson.Brian J.Redshaw was
present and taking minutes.
A roll call was taken and the following named Councilmen were present;
Hinkson,Barrett,Rees,and Stork.Absent:Gruber.
The following guests and staff were also present:Christopher Jens--
Butts Engineering,Jack Inman,Bill Inman,Marc Stiles,Steve Venard--
Bishop Engineering,Roger Buffington,Paul E Huscher and Ron Olson.
Steve Venard spoke to the City Council regarding the storm sewer
construction drawings for Mary Ann Estates Plat #2.
Bill Inman of Woodwright Construction spoke to the Council regarding
the progress on the easments with the Kansas City Corporation.As
of this date,the additional easement have not been executed.
Moved by Hinkson,second by Stork,to approve the construction of a
covered storm sewer and the execution of easements between the two
effected property owners with the City allowed to oversee the main-
tenance of the detention area,Carried 3 to O.-Rees abstaininf..
Paul E Huscher spoke to the Council regarding the issue of sump
pump lines in new subdivisions.
Moved by Stork,second by Barrett,to adjourn at 8:32 p.m.Carried
4 to O.
